Also, restart the potential trade offers with Dallas. I read that Schro was a big fan of JKidd.

A trade with Dallas for Schroder is interesting except I'm thinking some combo of Hardaway, Richardson, Brunson, WCS or Powell.

In reality, it would likely be Porzingas or Redick coming our way.

Happy about this

Who are some actually good offensive assistants on the market currently?

Congrats to Kidd if he does.
All that talk by the media he was here to undermine Vogel and all that.

Turned out to be a solid assistant and did a good job for Bron/Rondo.

Hope we get someone with a good mind for what Bron/AD need.

Gentry would be an awesome addition. I'll throw this out there: if Fred Vinson isn't the next head coach of the Pelicans, I would love to bring him to LA and let him fix these shooters.

You do not, under any circumstances, have to hand it to a wife beater.

Gentry is waiting for Luke to get fired. I can see Billups in NO, so Fred Vinson would be a great addition.

Well let’s look at the reasons we brought him over:

1. Help develop Brandon Ingram into a point forward.
2. Recruit Giannis to the Lakers

I did some digging on the J. Kidd case, and it turns out the violence and abuse was bi-directional. I'm not excusing Kidd's behavior, but his wife was also (bleep) insane and an abuser as well. Who knows what else she did to her kid-

Quote:
According to the complaint, Joumana Kidd used the couple's 8-year-old son on Dec.27 to sneak into the Nets locker room and rummage through Jason Kidd's locker to find his cell phone. After looking up the names and numbers on it, the complaint said she left her son to take a front row seat, where she shouted insults at Kidd throughout the game.

The papers accuse Joumana Kidd of kicking, hitting, punching and throwing household objects at her husband as she became "increasingly controlling and manipulative" in the last few years of their union.

According to Kidd, his wife had tracking devices installed on his cars and computers and has harassed his trainer, friends and family. Jason Kidd was arrested in January 2001 after his wife told police he hit her during an argument. Kidd pleaded guilty to spousal abuse, was fined $200 (U.S.) and ordered to take anger management class.

This lines up fairly well with the domestic violence rates against men, where men make up around 40-50% of the victims. The dynamic is often complex and more nuanced than the media makes it out to be. I've read so many cases where the abused turned out to be the abuser.

Dallas fired a top 5 coach who led them to their only championship for a guy who was fired by both the Nets and the Bucks?

Kidd getting the Mavericks job is a classic case of addition by subtraction.

Never cared for Kidd and always felt like his presence made it more difficult for Frank to do his job, since everyone knew that the Lakers really wanted Kidd as head coach.

I think this will benefit Vogel more than anyone.

Cool. Not a Lakers problem anymore.

Not a big fan of Kidd as a head coach either. But Cuban would lick a camel's butt if it made Luka happy.
