They probably would considering how bad he’s been this year. Lakers hopefully have noticed as well….so they can decline that offer |

@Wolf: I made the assumption Russ is fine with being benched by us via his comments with Woj and what Vogs stated here:
Quote: | Bill Oram @billoram
Frank Vogel on Russell Westbrook’s response to his benching: “He’s all in on doing whatever’s necessary to get the Lakers to win a championship.”
|
I’m sure that him being cool with seeing more bench time is exclusively with us and not in Htown taking up Wall’s bench role. If he does end up getting shipped to Htown, I’m sure a buyout option will be discussed before they pull the trigger on such a deal.
I can totally see where he opts into his final 47m and then discusses a buyout with Htown to have him released. I’m figuring Htown would then decide if they see it as a stretch or a one year mo stet cap hit next season. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Something I failed to mention before - if the Lakers were able to make it worth the Pelicans' while to remove the 2025 optionality on the pick that the Pels can either accept in 2024 or defer a year, the Lakers could then trade two picks now (2026 & 2028) instead of just 2027.
This is good info Could Westbrook/2026/2028 be a better deal to get rid of? |

Guys, please, AD is not getting traded and he's not the issue here. We need him back to make the team better.
He got hurt, yes, similar to what happened to Durant. This injury could have happened to anyone.
I know Davis is frustrating because he's be injured the past two seasons but a healthy Davis is better than 98% of the league...
I am not trade Davis.... |

Every GM is staring at the Lakers salivating at that '27 frp. They're like vulgers trying to fight for it from gullible Pelinka. I think Pelinka will eventually get suckered by some GM into giving it up. Not to worry because next year we'll have our '29 frp available. |

Are we trading for Joel Embiid? It depends on the player we get back.

I would be willing to part with 2 frp to get rid of WB only if we're one player away from contending. It all depends on what kind of AD we'd get once he comes back. |

Philly gets an expiring next year and easy to move the contract to get their Harden and also get a promising player in THT.
Lakers finally get their 2 wing players while keeping Nunn.
LeBron/Nunn/AB
Monk/Reaves/Wayne
Simmons/Stanley/Sekou
Tobias/Melo/Ariza
AD/Dwight/DAJ |

I call 🧢
You had that “good info” for months in the Cap Q&A thread (link in my siggy👇🏼)
Also, in order to do that with the Pels, you gotta incentivize them. So what you giving them in order to free up that 2026 pick? You lose those assets first before you turn to your Russ trading partner to attach the 2026/2028 1st round picks. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

So example correct me if im wrong? Could we give the Pelicans our 2 2nd rounders via (WAS) and a filler for a player they have as an incentive aslong as they free up that pick?

All of Thibs teams are the same. They bust their butts for him, and then they fall off a cliff. Randle had a historic season as a Knick last year, but one can argue his numbers were inflated by playing a career high in minutes (38 mpg).
I'm kind of surprised at how many young players have regressed this year. Guys like Tatum, Brown, Randle, Shai and BI are not efficient this season. Could be the whole covid thing or some resulting health issue, but still, Randle's 3pt percentage dropped 11 points. |

Again, if there's one thing Morey will NOT do with Ben Simmons after all the turmoil that they've gone through since the playoffs ended is reward him and his Klutch agent Rich Paul with a trade to the Lakers to potentially win a ring with Mr. Klutch himself, Lebron James.
Impossible. |

Randle was exclusively playing 5 last year. This year he is playing 4 because they starting true center Mitchell Robinson
Randle doesn’t have the entire paint to operate anymore |

I see the Rockets are playing the LeGM/Klutch angle.
Worth a shot to see if the Lakers get so desperate and stupid that they attach a FRP with Westbrook for Klutch client Wall! |

*If* the Lakers were to work something out with the Pelicans so that they could trade their 2026 and 2028 picks, what's the best player that those two picks + THT & Nunn could get them? |
