Has anyone watched it? I have no intention of subscribing, but that's the only thing I'm interested in seeing on ESPN+. I may wait until there are a lot of episodes, then watch them all in a 30 day free trial period...
It does suck that it's on ESPN+ though. Kobe should just have his own YT channel for it. He would make a killing.
Or alternatively, collaborate with Lakersfilmroom. _________________ Lakers Offseason Goal:

Yeah, I watched the first episode of his breakdown of the Conf. Finals from 2009. He detailed the coverage and the counters. He wasn’t lying when he said he was playing chess when everyone else was playing checkers.
I hate BSPN but I will find a way to watch it. Personally I really enjoyed "doin work" even though it wasn't widely embraced by the masses. I just love getting a peek into the mind of a basketball genius like Kobe.

I legit feel bad for all of Kobe's missed reads. Exactly why I'm focused so much on court awareness/vision out of the draft. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

It would have been easy for him to put together a reel of him just making correct reads. I'm impressed he was willing to point out the instances where he made mistakes. _________________ 14-5-3-12
FYI the free 1 month trial offer ends on the 19th so you only have tonight and tomorrow left to sign up.
If I like the Kobe show I probably will pay the $5 after the trial is over. I think Kobe's show only runs through the playoffs. I won't pay after that. If they at least gave me archives of all their ESPN/ESPN2 shows maybe I would be interested just to watch The Jump. Even that is already free in podcast form though. From what I heard most of the content they have on ESPN+ is already free elsewhere.
If the Kobe show wasn't on there I probably wouldn't even use the free trial.

It makes sense. I don't think anyone is harder on Kobe than Kobe himself. He probably obsesses over every mistake. Its his failures which occupy his mind, not his successes. Just another reason to respect the guy as a basketball player. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

which is another reason why Phil jackson said Kobe was uncoachable.
people thought he was talking about because kobe was a scorer/hot dog. and didnt listen. nope not it at all.
Kobe would listen to the stuff he knew he needed to get to the next level or get over a hump. He wouldnt want to waste time on all the excess stuff others may have needed.
Phil jackson with all his books, etc, etc. that was necessary for the other guys. not for him.
How do you coach a guy that is already giving 400% effort? You can't teach effort and work ethic to a guy that probably works even harder than you Coach.
How do you coach a guy who was born weight the right height, weight, length to play his position. While also being born with elite athleticism to boot?
How do you coach a guy that loved film as a kid when his granny was sending him tapes of laker games when he was in Italy with his mom and pops?
How do you coach a guy thats basically a basketball Savant?
You dont. You try to make the proper space for that person to blossom. and get out of the way.
If kobe bryant had the coaching but. at least from an X's and O's point of view, player development point of view. He would most likely be the best coach ever.
On a semi related topic, can we get Kobe and Rodney Mullen in the same room together and just roll the tape (so to speak)? I'd love to see how a conversation on their respective crafts relate to larger roles in society... Plus they would no doubt form a total bro-mance. Lol!

That's a conversation for the ages. Master of the court and the master of technical flatland? Geeeeeezzzz.
they have a lot in common... both legends within their respective sports, obsessive about winning, accomplished businessmen, near autistic command of their craft (though, an argument could be made that Rodney is actually autistic).
... and they both live in LA. make it happen!

Kobe if ever wanted to, would make an excellent coach. His IQ is off the charts and his deep analysis for the game separates him from any typical player coach. _________________ Lakers Offseason Goal:

yeah, but he'd probably also have the tendency of the greats " why can't you do this??? I could!"
like Magic, Michael, etc.
