Koepka playing the Intimidator role (à la Dale Earnhardt)....just hanging out on the bumper of the leaders letting them know he will be coming in the final stretch of this race!

If they were just drinking ale and not scotch, then you missed nothing.

Some buddies and I are planning/hoping to head to Scotland for our 60th's in a few years. There will be lots of scotch

Going into the Open, I’d have been so pumped to think that Fleetwood would be in second going into Sunday. But 4 strokes back from a local favorite who is on fire? Ugh.

Gonna be interesting tomorrow.

Well, if you are pulling hard for Fleetwood, Lowry has blown a 4-stroke lead at a major with 18 holes to go in the past. Maybe history can repeat itself.

I'm not necessarily rooting for Lowry to fail . . . an Irishman winning would be cool. I'd just prefer Tommy.

Well, that was pretty special.

Congrats to Lowry for pulling it out.

I am glad Koepka is calling attention to golfers who always play slow....it is not fun to play with that type of guy, but it is not entertaining on television either when the final round dwindles down and they do not have many players to switch to on the screen, and you are forced to watch some jerk-off put on his glove.....tighten it....then pick a club, etc.

There are rules in place for slow play. I haven't seen them enforced.

We have a regular in our group who is notorious for that stuff. Things like standing around while we wait for the group ahead to clear the green then doing his practice swings . . . line up shot . . . 5 more practice swings . . . line up shot again . . . more swing and then hit. Watches everyone putt , then takes of his glove tucks into pocket and lines his putt up. The concept of "Ready Golf" has been explained to him but it makes no difference. It's reached a point that no when someone else is lallygagging we all now say to them "Get a move on (his name) . . ."

I think everyone has one of those guys. A while back we had a group that went to high school together that started playing routinely about 10 years after high school. It was not always the same 4....sometimes it was 3 of us, or someone would bring someone they worked with, etc. etc. One guy in particular would pull that crap....he would get out of the cart, watch everyone pull out their club, walk up to the tee box with us talking the whole damn time.....then when it was his turn, he would walk back to the cart to get his club! I mean this would happen 5 or 6 times a round. Early on, you prod him in a joking manner, but he never caught on....so then you have to watch him the whole time when you get out of cart to remind him to get his driver or iron he planned on using. As you know, on some course, the cart path can be 20-40 yards from the tee box!

So now we are babysitting him before teeing off....that is like 15% of the battle. This is the same dude that will take a wedge to a green bunker or for a chip shot, and never grab his putter. This is the same dude that has to have a 5 minute discussion with the "cart girl" and interrogate her on why she only has Bud Light and Michelob in her cooler. The final straw was when we would say "pull over, and let them play through" and his response was always "nah, f#$k em'". So we are loading our bags into our cars at a nice course on the East Coast of FL, and these old guys that I guess had been playing behind us said something in the parking lot...nothing major, just rude like "next time I am just teeing off, and if it hits you, it hits you". They had a point, but that pack mentality takes hold and there is about to be a brawl in the parking lot....4 physically fit guys in their late 20's against some old geezers. In the end, we were officially banned for life from the course! The next day, the 3 of us spoke and we have never played with our old buddy since that day. He was taking the fun out of it on the course, then he had us acting like idiots in parking lot. I still know the guy....he is fairly successful in life, but I still do not gold with him.

I guess that is different than your guy....he is just slow, ours was slow, immature and rude.

His par save on the 4th was classic Tiger.

Anyone have a favorite for the PGA this weekend?

Tiger: I think his back will get tight in the cold weather. He's normally pretty good in CA, but it looks pretty cold up there.

Spieth: this guy needs to get out of his head.

Koepka: He's the defending champ and confident as hell right now.

Justin Thomas: He's been playing well over the last month and I think I'm leaning his way.

Tony Finau: I'd like to see him do well, but he fades down the stretch.

Bryson DeChambeau: He's kind of unbearable, but his power might help him in the dense air in SF.

p.s. I don't appreciate having to go 6 pages deep to find this thread. You golf heads need to keep up.

Tough to pick against Koepka. Jon Rahm is going to break through at some point. I agree with you about Finau; I just don't trust him.

Brooks is definitely feeling it right these days. But I too am leaning JT (personal pick as well). Bryson's obviously crushing it, but he's making some stupid mistakes - too erratic to predict. If Tiger's in the hunt come Sunday, you gotta like his chances. He seems to be putting pretty well so far.

I'd love to see De-Cham-PED hit a 420 yard drive that leaves him with a 60 yard wedge that he hits 40 yards over the green because he can't control his touch anymore lol.

Yep! I hope for at least one big melt down or blowup hole by him.

He makes it so hard to like him. I kind of dig his thinking-man's approach but he's so pompous about it that it's easy to tune him out as just a know-it-all windbag.

Dustin Johnson's having a good day as is Xander. Lots of proven winners within 4 strokes of the lead.

And he broke it not on the swing, but from leaning on the club afterward. He literally doesn't know his own strength. I'm sure it's all natural.

And forgot that he added 40 lbs.

Though I suspect that shaft was fatigued by the beating he has been giving it and was just waiting to fall apart.
