Can someone explain to me how the Warriors are able to sign Curry for 5/201, Livingston for 3/28mil, and Iguodala for 3/48 mil and still afford to sign Durant?

What am I missing here? I thought Iguodala was for sure gone this offseason.

What is Durant going to sign for now?

A huge discount. Durant took almost ten million less than the max to get his teammates paid and keep the key guys from last year's run. Huge props to him.

My guess it's a timing / ordering issue. I believe Warriors have bird rights and can go over the cap Curry, Livingston, and Iguodala. That means they have to be under the cap for Durant to sign.

Step 1 would be to sign Curry, Livingston, Iguodala to their new contract IF the new annual salary is less than the caphold.

Step 2 Sign Durant with cap space

Step 3 Sign Curry, Livingstong, Iguodala to their new contract IF the new annual salary is more than the caphold.

This is my best guess.

what I want to know is how does Durant feel about taking the hit on his salary while Curry is getting the biggest contract in NBA history???

I mean, Curry could have taken less right? Spread the shortfall around a bit??

He's a beta now so he'll toe the line.

Me knows Curry's way below max contract up to now helped bring him in and build that team. He will get his, and has already gotten a ton more than curry.
