It is absolutely hilarious how this thread ONLY gets traction after a subpar game.

Blame the guy coming off the bench, playing a total of 19 mins who got 2 shots and absolutely NEVER has a single play called for him.

Kuz will go down in Laker lore as the biggest scapegoat I have ever seen.

Lets act as if the Lakers losing had absolutely nothing to do with Dennis playing O-lay defense.

Or Bron and AD having absolutely no sense of urgency and that mentality trickling down to the rest of the team.

Or nothing to do with AD getting completely OWNED by Ayton.

Or nothing to do with KCP missing damn near every wide open 3 he took.

How about Bron missing crucial free throws and the entire team missing 11 in total?

Out of all the reasons the Lakers tricked off that game, Kuzma is damn near at the bottom of the list.

He didn't "get" 2 shots. He shot 2. He could have shot more. Played passive

He's going to have to be a bigger factor on the boards for us. Phoenix killed us on that end and he was a complete non-factor. I don't even care if he doesn't score a point all series, we just need him to rebound the ball like he's capable of.

All the negativity in this thread reminds me of when JC was roasted every time he had a bad game. Now he is 6th Man of the Year.

Let's all have constructive criticism and not "the sky is falling" comments.

GEEZ!!!!

You asking someone who is inconsistent in all aspect of the game to be consistent in an instant? You'll just get disappointed. Kid needs to sit his inconsistent ass.

Kuz at least brings the effort. Again look at some of the piss poor effort our main guys are putting out there on the court, not going after loose balls, not getting back in transition, Kuz for all his flaws goes hard at all times

What effort? He suddenly a Caruso now? This Kuzma apologists are hilarious LMFAO

Disaster again. Only effort is not enough. Time to give Morris his minutes and try. He cant be worse than Kuz.

Kuzma is garbage. Been saying it for years. He got better at 1:1 defense and is quicker on rotations on team defenseā€¦but his bball iq is non existent. Time to ship his ass out this summer

Whats going on with Kuz? He seems a little gun shy out there right now. Did they stop running plays for him. The guy is only averaging about 4.5 shots per game since Lebron came back.

I don't think he played terribly. It is true that he wasn't actively looking for his shots but it looks like our top 4 scoring options were AD, LBJ, DS, and Drummond. Thus as long as he focused on playing defense and fought for rebounds, that would be considered as a good job

If he keeps that same defensive energy, but is a bit more active offensively, I'm happy with Kuz. Just looking a bit hesitant on offense out there for some reason. Hopefully some home cooking will help.

It is incredible reading the denial in this thread. Folks need to admit they were wrong about Kuzma, I know I did. He's a forgettable player that put up solid numbers on a garbage team and has faded away once the Lakers got competitive. The dude's barely outscored anybody on this board in two playoff games and you have people defending him, even saying he's playing well, it's unreal.

Only if you read box score numbers. His defense is still very good. He doesnt get plays run for him, he touches the ball hardly at all the way our offense is ran. He could be more aggressive for sure and missed 2 open 3s, but I think hes conscious of playing team ball and not selfishly chucking up shots.

The Suns will start to trap DS and limit his offense. This is the time for Kuz to step up offensively.

Kuz is playing the right way for what our team needs from him at this stage, hustle and play defense rotating with anyone and holding his own. We just need him to drain those open 3 ball and the narrative will change in a heartbeat.

Kyle Kuzma had only 8 points on 2/12 shooting tonight but he played good defense, was active on the boards, and made smart passes. It's so impressive how he's embraced his role and turned himself into a player who doesn't need to score to make a winning impact for the Lakers.

Kuz is only consistent in the playoffs... unfortunately consistently bad, but the effort is there.

+ 14 on this game and was solid defensively. Missed a lot of gimmes but 10 boards. He is playing his role, shooting will come along at some point.

Was fully tripped by Chris Paul also, could've been badly injured. What the hell was this?

When the dam breaks on his shot, these playoffs are going to be ugly for the Lakers opponents.

Kuzma was in on a lot of key plays. His energy is noticeable and he is putting himself in good positions. Defensively he has been solid and knows when to switch.

Would love to see some shots falling but I see what he's doing out there. Playing hard nosed Lakers defense with some intense rebounding effort.

He didn't shoot well tonight but he had 8 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. He was a +14 (2nd best on the team).

Most of his shot attempted were basically putbacks. His hustle and defense was everywhere tonight.
