Wow. Let the speculation begin.

I didnt hear that, thought he just said "he's just not here" but that could mean he's getting his body right etc...

Exactly, it's just like how we faked the moon landings back in 1969.

yeah I see no reason to fake this. Without him we will be in the play-in and he'll have to play in a few do or die games. Not a ideal situation to be in

I bet it’s round the clock treatments on his ankle. He’s stated that already

Perhaps he knows he wont be a 100 percent and well below it until the offseason. I could see him packing it in.

anyways It's looking like a play-in will require Lebron to go off in order to win and advance and whats coming next in the 1st round will be a brutal series.

We really needed at least one easy 1st round series to get something going

So you guys are saying LeBron is ducking his team and his responsibilities just because he may be 90-something percent and that it will be a tough but not impossible road to the championship?

If that's true, what a coward.

Mcmenamin said not medically related though. If that's true, something must be amiss, and it's not his ankle.

With the amount of mileage on his body plus the injury, he may be looking at the big picture, especially since he knows his body best. But speculations aside, as long as LBJ believes there's a slither of hope to win it this season, I expect him to go all out.

I posted this in the injury thread. You didn’t post McTen’s follow up tweet. Basically it really sounded like something Vogel should’ve left alone without trying to comment.

The second tweet seems to contradict the first tweet. It also said they were excused absences. Still not sure what's really going on.

Maybe LeBron's absence wasn't medically related, but the team allowed it because it would also allow his ankle to heal more, even if he was good to play?

This seems like a lot of speculation about nothing. He looked physically horrible in terms of his explosion and agility which is not that surprising with a severe high ankle sprain in a 36 year old.

To me it was obvious right away, even when he made shots - like that fadeaway he made in the TOR game he had zero lift.

His mobility on D was also terrible.

They can say what they want to the press but seems obvious he is hurt or at minimum is not comfortable pushing on it yet.

Does it matter if he is pissed? Or if he is in “playoff mode”. Or if “the thunderstorm is coming”?

If he physically can’t produce it really doesn’t matter how much he tells us anything.

Hoping he can return and give us a great performance in the playoffs. But as mentioned above, he looks bad.

I’m a show me, don’t tell me kind of guy. Patience is running thin on this team’s statements.

He looked really bad physically in the game he played...do we really think he’s gonna look a lot better by the start of the playoffs?

I’m starting to wonder if him even being on the court at this point helps us more than hurts us

LeBron with one leg is still a better passer and playmaker than anyone else on this roster sadly. If nothing else he can still shore up that major team weakness. So him being on the court will always be better than him being off the court.

But yeah the overall two-way dominance we saw in last year’s playoff run is hard to imagine if he isn’t able to move properly due to the high ankle sprain.

Yeah, but winning games right now could also have us in a first round battle with the clippers. You have to ask yourself, do you want that or a play-in.

I'm not hating ok folks, but lebron started the term "Load management" when he would sit out games late in the season in Cleveland to drop a seed and avoid certain teams in the first and second rounds. All you have to do is research it if you think I'm lying.

Sounds like a case of star player who is injured doesn't want to travel with team. If it's bothering Vogel it's because he knows Lebron is healthy enough to travel with the team and should be supporting them on this run to close the season.

Why would you ever want Lebron traveling with the team when he wasn't playing? He deserves every second of rest and working out to recuperate. I know his teammates would want him at home recuperating rather than traveling with them.

Or Vogel trying to shift blame on all the losing because LeBron could've played today but instead we lost and it's not because of my horrible rotations the past 2 weeks.

Reading his body language while answering that question, he was just frustrated. Probably thinking why ask about LeBron not being here since it has nothing to do with the game. There's a lot of frustration in the locker room I think.

From the Kuz comments about Gasol needing more playing time, the myriad of comments by LeBron, and DS being out because of Covid (AGAIN), plus him potentially outting LeBron's choice of not being vaccinated.

Losing magnifies locker room issues. Hopefully we can get it together.

From what I’m gathering, LeBron is good enough to play but he doesn’t feel good enough to play. He’s not where he wants to be and is not playing. Medically he could be out there but he would like to be much closer to 100%. If he’s medically cleared then I can see that possibly being a bit problematic because we’re losing and a 50% Bron is better than no LeBron. For him, it’s not good enough.

LeBron didn’t look bad. He just didn’t look like himself and healthy. In both games he played he was still clearly our best player. He shot 50% or better in both games. He just looked injured. He looked bad with the turnovers (rust) and had lapses defensively. If he played today he would still be our most productive player.

If LeBron is good enough to play and the ankle is stable enough, he must play. He's supposed to be our leader, and we're supposed to be starting to round into shape right now.
