Why is no one talking about the possibility of Blake Griffin in a Laker uniform?

There is a law in physics that says the amount of matter in the Universe does not change, only that is changes in various forms of energy. If the Chris Paul trade then reversal has any body thinking that we got short changed then you might be thinking what I'm thinking, and that is Blake Griffin signing with the Lakers would be the NBA Universe balancing out its energy, maybe that sounds too scientific but then again saying a completely legal and fair trade from the Lakers doesn't make sense is well maybe dark matter

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/david-stern-destroyed-lakers-chris-185915155.html

The what if scenario is one for the ages, a player of Kobe's caliber when he still had supreme dominance and a healthy Chris Paul would be stellar, wouldn't it be fair to say that Magic knowing this and the marquee free agent being in the Locker room in the same building your team plays in make a pitch to Blake about the mystique of joining Lakerdom, make sense for basketball reasons to me, this is in no way out of the realm of possibility

Would rather not see that ever happen. Don't like envisioning clippers in a lakers uniform

When Blake first entered the league I thought it made too much sense for him to end up a Laker at some point in his career. But as of now, I think if CP resigns with the Clippers then Blake isn't going anywhere until he's 30 and old. Most likely scenario is that (CP/BG/DJ) end up sticking together and picking up 2 or 3 more second round exits before realizing that they won't win it and go ring chasing.

I also don't think this guy is a superstar and he is one of the most overrated players in the league but that's a discussion for another day

I would love to have griffin as a laker. This can only happen if cp3 contemplates leaving the clippers which I hope happens. David stern (bleep) us royally and what would be even better is that both cp3 and griffin comes to the lakers.

That would be the best ending to what that (bleep) sucker did to us in 2011

1. No good reason to think he leaves
2. No good reason to think that, should he leave, the Lakers would be a top choice, given our competitive uncertainty.
3. No good reason for us to pursue him since he'll be looking for a max deal, has had multiple knee surgeries, and too much of his game depends on his (already declining) athleticism.

I won't have nothing against. But I would't be very exited.
A few years ago I believed Blake would develop in a better player that he is now. He reached his plateau.

You need more defense out of your PF.

Except with a worse jumpshot.

I think the primary reason why the Clippers have never made it out of the second round is that Blake simply doesn't have that much impact on the game. He is completely dependent upon Chris Paul for his offense and is an average defender at best even though he should be able to have Ibaka-like impact based on his athleticism.

Also, he's a douche.

Really don't want him. I think his impact on the game is overrated.

It's not even clear that the Clippers have been that much worse when Griffin is out with injury:

If we get Blake this summer than I would parlay Randle, HOU1st + one of the 'untouchables' (Dlo, Ingram, top3pick) for a wing star (PG13, Butler, Westbrook). or if we super lucky, clear enough room somehow and ask Blake to get Hayward to sign also.
Anyway, my point is if we can sign Blake, we sign him then maneuver the pieces for a wing

Yep, we don't need his attitude and maturity problems in the locker room. Pass.

If you take away CP3 there is not much left from Griffin (or DeAndre) besides bad knees and doing stupid stuff off court. I don't know, but he doesn't seem to be a calming force in locker room dynamics.

It seems like there's one scenario that makes sense for Griffin it LA, landing the 3rd pick.

If they get Fultz or Ball, they'll keep them and never find a common ground on a PG13 deal since they can have him in a year. If they don't get a top 3 pick, they have even less assets to deal and likely don't make a deal.

If they literally land the #3 pick, I don't know that there is a must have but I could see it dealt with Randle in a PG13 deal. That should be enough, so you throw in the 1st and you could have some contracts changing hands to work out a max slot to sign Griffin.

The thinking is you complete a PG13 agreement prior to Free Agency, and you use the his star power with the up and coming Russell and Ingram to try and sway Griffin to stay in LA. The chemistry he has with Jordan and CP3 is great, but who knows maybe this gets him to sign and gives you a free asset much more useful than Deng or Mozgov.

PG Russell
SG George
SF Ingram
PF Griffin
C Zubac

6 Clarkson
7 Nance
8 Deng
9 Black (unless dealt)/Mozgov
vet mins and space exception

Yeah, he is weak on defense, but he could not be much weaker than the current Laker PF's.

Yes he is injured often, so "might" the younger Lakers as they get older.

But, I am confused as to why the bulk of the posters think he would NOT be an upgrade over Randle???

I would take him in a second...
