We know he wouldn’t legally win. but the gop are focused on all branches of govt. they won’t do what pence did. They won’t certify a loss

He could still legally win though. Last year's election was extremely close in the battleground states, as was the '16 election. Even if we succeed in passing a federal voting rights bill, we'll still have to campaign like crazy and get a lot better at messaging to prevent Trump (or whoever the GOP nominee is) from winning again.

Politico: In Alabama and Louisiana, partisan opposition to vaccine surges alongside Delta variant

Quote:
SHEFFIELD, Ala. — George Grabryan and Mike Melton have been helping people here on the bank of the Tennessee River survive devastating tornadoes, floods and other disasters for decades. Ask any local official in rural Lauderdale County, and they have the two emergency managers’ numbers saved in their phones — just in case.

But Covid-19 has broken those bonds. Despite Grabryan and Melton’s best efforts, only 34 percent of county residents are vaccinated, even as the highly transmissible Delta variant has driven up new infections by 300 percent in the last two weeks. Three people have died, and health officials predict that many more will follow before the summer mist lifts off the cornfields.

Many people here and elsewhere in the Southeast are turning down Covid-19 vaccines because they are angry that President Donald Trump lost the election and sick of Democrats in Washington thinking they know what’s best. State and local public health officials have struggled to combat that deep-rooted obstinance. But they don’t want more on-the-ground help from the White House, fearful it would prolong the current surge — even as the Biden administration has begun approaching southern states with offers to send federal “surge teams” on door-knocking campaigns.

I really hope we get a new candidate that's better than one we've seen.
Trump getting a 2nd term would be good for no one - he's unhealthy for his supporters, he'd embolden their pride and obsession ---- on the other side, I think large numbers of people would riot , and it'd divide this country very heatedly, beyond repair

I dont think he would win legally, however if GOP wins senate which is very possible they could vote not certify. If the voter suppression laws come in to play a democratic win for president could be a lot closer than 2020 which makes not certifying "acceptable" to sheep.

Biden has yet to put the iron fist down on voter suppression because as he says GOP will come around and it will be bipartisan.

Hes playing politics pre-trump which that style/way of doing things is gone and never coming back.

Bipartisanship is done other than smaller issues or no brainers. Voting rights should fall under that but GOP know the more voters, the less likely they win. They have said this.

Unfortunately the big die offs will be ins states where it won't make a difference in 2022 . . . though I suppose it could help in Florida.

Imagine being so polluted with QAnon venom and idiocy that you believe your own child is a "crisis actor":

Parkland Survivor Says QAnon Convinced His Dad Shooting Was A Hoax: Report

A survivor of the 2018 Parkland, Florida, school shooting told Vice News his father has fallen deep into the QAnon rabbit hole and now believes the massacre that killed 17 people at his school was fake.

The 18-year-old was part of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s final graduating class of survivors of the mass shooting. He spoke to Vice News anonymously, under the alias Bill, after sharing his story on a Reddit thread dedicated to supporting friends and family of QAnon followers. He said he wanted to protect his identity out of concern over attacks by conspiracy theorists.

Bill said his father believes the shooting that killed nine of his classmates was a hoax and that the shooter, Bill and his classmates were “paid pawns in a grand conspiracy orchestrated by some shadowy force,” Vice reported.

The real conspiracy is these QAnus idiots, getting together . . . to believe things for which they have no verifiable proof. All they have is their whiteness, their rage, and their need to feel special. Well, they are special: They're especially deranged. Just like the Confederacy, these QAnus idiots are Losers.

I saw that earlier today. WTF is wrong with people? Have people always been this stupid and susceptible to loony conspiracy theories? It feels like it's own virus -- a virus that social media spreads at horrifying rates. I worry these people, maybe 40% of America, are permanently lost and not coming back to reality maybe ever. It's like a bad 70's sci-fi movie where humans are taken over by aliens and become pod-people or Stepford wives. Mass delusion.

How is this possible

Seeing some (bleep) on Tuberville and then more and more and more pops up

How does this sit with normal humans
Tuberville's wife Suzanne murdered an 80+ year old man with her car when she ran a red light hitting the couples car.. (2011)

Tuberville’s wife under investigation
Quote:
On Nov. 1, 2011, Suzanne Tuberville ran a red light and hit an elderly couple in their car.

Quote:
He said no citation was issued at the scene of the crime due to the physical condition of one of the passengers.

Lubbock police unable to answer questions in Tuberville case

Quote:
Lubbock police said the investigation into Tuberville’s November car crash on 57th Street and Slide Road was closed without an autopsy report on a crash victim who later died, and on the basis of a 30-day rule.

Quote:

Sgt. Stewart said intoxication made the difference between the two cases. According to the TxDOT crash report filed by LPD, the police did not perform any alcohol or drug tests on Suzanne Tuberville.

Patrick Metze, an associate professor of law at Texas Tech and the director of its criminal defense clinic, said according to the Texas Transportation Code, the police have the discretion to take a specimen of a person’s breath or blood.

Hobson said if the autopsy results reveal Purdy’s death was related to the injuries sustained in the car accident, it would only be one part of a two-part process to charge Suzanne Tuberville with criminally negligent homicide. The police would also have to prove she was speeding, texting, eating, talking on the phone or doing something else to cause a distraction.

Stewart would not comment on whether police examined Suzanne Tuberville’s phone records to see if she was texting or talking on the phone while driving.

After a little research I see she was only charged with running a red light.. not for the injuries caused by running said red light..

It just never ends with these people

I am eternally angry at McCarthy for trying to scam us out of an honest investigation into January 6th.
Yes 3000 people died in 9/11 but I see the people who attacked the Capitol as NO Different.. Terrorists..
Trumps Terrorists = Putins Terrorists in my book

sad when I can only feel hate for Republicans..
Mother told me there was nothing she hated more in life than a Liar or a Thief and GOP is nothing but Liars and Thieves.. sigh

Completely ignoring the Red Tide issue plaguing the west coast of Florida and actively pretending Florida isn’t heading up the massive covid surge, but THIS, THIS is important. This like his BS parading around the border is just him campaigning for his presidential run. Not like this wasn’t obvious before, but DeathSantis doesn’t give a crap about the state of Florida beyond how he can use it to propel him to the presidency.

Was one of the Best days when Ben & Jerry's did this..

Anything that supported and got along with Trump IS A Insurrectionist and potential Terrorist

Now the police are finishing up the search and rescue at the collapsed tower.. I am sure they will do a great job

Right before the collapse DeSantis sent national guard and state police iirc to TEXAS.. to protect the Wall..

I share all your concerns.
I'm just not saying it out loud or dwelling on it too much yet. Even though the urge is there.

Gotta try my best to enjoy this short respite. These 2 years will probably be as good as it gets for the foreseeable future.

good and bad I guess
Trump don't like it means it should be good for democrats but like someone said, he prob didn't read it and just want a failed Dem sponsored bill politically
Then you also have 17 GOPs signing off with Manchin which means this bill been gutted, anybody know?

There are two parts to Biden's overall infrastructure plan:

Part 1) - Bi-partisan classic infrastructure bill for roads, bridges, etc. that appeals to moderates in both parties and will probably pass with a medium price tag and paid for through classic funding measures. Has the support of at least 10 moderate Republicans as well as Manchin and Sinema (the WH had Manchin and Sinema help negotiate the bill).

Part 2) - Democrats only human infrastructure/jobs/climate bill that will hopefully pass through reconciliation (needs "only" 50 Democrats and no Republicans). High price, partially funded through higher corporate taxes and higher taxes on the rich. Bernie Sanders in charge of the budget for the bill -- has kept progressives on board despite downscaling the price tag of the total bill. Manchin is on board. Sinema has said her yes vote depends on perhaps scaling back the price tag and how it gets paid for. My guess is the WH involved her in Part 1 negotiations to try to keep her on board for Part 2.

Both parts will probably pass. Schumer is trying to make it happen before they all leave on August vacation. (Both Part 1 and the reconciliation Part 2 will have to go back to the House for another vote and presumably pass; progressives won't commit until they see both pieces and pass both pieces together as part of one whole). The WH has had literally hundreds of meetings behind the scenes to make this happen. The WH has Sinema and Manchin on speed dial to keep them in the fold.

The combined package will be one of the largest, most progressive infrastructure and climate plans to ever pass in Congress. But it won't be as big as progressives wanted (there is still some grumbling in the House that Pelosi will have to smooth over). And it will be a lot bigger than any Republican would have supported even a few months ago when McConnell vowed to block every single thing Biden want to pass.

So if this passes, Biden will have done the exact thing he said he could and for the exact reason people voted for him -- pass major bipartisan legislation through old-fashioned negotiation and compromise.

Edited to add:
