I just found out through back channels that my sister is still a Trump supporter. When I do talk to her we don't talk about politics. How anybody could still be a Trump supporter after what he did on January 6th is beyond me.

Like the pandemic, some of the country is not taking the path the Republican party is on serious enough. If they get control of the government the words of Abe Lincoln could become a reality. I'm truly worried.

At this point, I'm optimistic that Dems not only keep the Senate, but gain seats. However, not going to make a difference if they can't keep the House.

538 has the Democrats winning the Senate, but not the House. I'm wondering if its legal for the lame duck house to pass a bunch of bills, Schumer holds onto them until the new Senators are seated and then puts it to a vote with enough Senators to get rid of the filibuster. Although, even if the Dems get to 52 Senators, who knows if those extra two will be any better than Senema or Manchin.

All bills would be dead if the current Congress doesn't pass them, so they'd have to be reintroduced in the next Congress in 2023.

If the House switches and if the Dems keep the Senate, the latter would still be important for judicial appointments and a possible vacancy on the SC.

Yea, without the House, the Senate basically becomes a gate keeper. Although confirming SC and Fed Court appointments is still a big deal, so that's a fair point. Just sucks that we'll be at a legislative stand still for at least two years, which then makes it that much more likely we get a GOP President and full GOP Congress in 2024 under the impression Biden couldn't get anything done.

How many billions did the voting company sue fox trash for?

$1,600,000,000 is the defamation suit

Fox News should see if there is any reward money for turning in Russian spies?

Dominion’s arguments “support a reasonable inference that Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch either knew Dominion had not manipulated the election or at least recklessly disregarded the truth when they allegedly caused Fox News to propagate its claims about Dominion,” Davis ruled.

(See China's reaction as Pelosi heads to Taiwan)

Quote:
House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is expected to visit Taiwan as part of her ongoing tour of Asia, according to a senior Taiwanese government official and a US official. That's despite warnings from Biden administration officials, who are worried about China's response to such a high-profile visit. The stop -- the first for a US House speaker in 25 years -- is not currently on Pelosi's public itinerary and comes at a time when US-China relations are already at a low point.

Chinese government officials have escalated their rhetoric ahead of Pelosi's prospective trip. CNN's Will Ripley reports.

Two Hellfire missiles strike his safe house while he alone, outside on a balcony and the ere are no other casualties and the building was not substantially damaged? If that's actually true, that's a hell of a drone strike.

It's interesting how conservatives have always portrayed themselves as the ones who will keep us safe from terrorists while accusing our side of cozying up with terrorists and wanting them to win.

Yet, Obama killed Bin Laden and now Biden has killed this guy.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/trump-pushed-cia-find-kill-osama-bin-laden-s-son-n1135101

WASHINGTON — When intelligence officials briefed President Donald Trump on the most worrisome terrorist threats during the first two years of his tenure, they regularly mentioned the names of the senior terrorist figures the CIA was working hardest to find and kill, including the leader of al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahri.

Trump would ultimately greenlight successful strikes on ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Yemeni al Qaeda chief Qasim al-Rimi — perhaps the most significant names on the CIA list of potential U.S. targets.

But he was more interested in a young and less influential figure much farther down the list, according to two people familiar with the briefings, because he recognized the name.
