What are you talking about? Everybody is of 1 mind in here.
That's why Baron loves Bernie bros and progressives who sit out elections and claim Biden is mentally deteriorating.
And that's why you have an AOC mural hanging over your bed.

Kevin seems to think DancingBarry had aspiring moderators fill out an application to be a Mod then he tossed out all the applications except for the liberal ones. lol

FWIW, way back when all of us became Moderators it was well before there was a Politics thread on LG and before any political discussion at all was allowed on LG.

So none of us knew each others politics. And DancingBarry didn't know if we were left, right, middle or none of the above.

But as it turned out we are almost all on left. I don't think that's a coincidence but it wasn't because there was a liberal check box prior to becoming a mod either.

lol. Terrible.

Newsom beats back a GOP driven recall bid by a massive landslide.

Media: “Democrats are elites! Party in disarray!!!!!!”

I’m also fed the (bleep) up with this narrative that Democrats “don’t govern for everyone.” Unlike that inclusive GOP!

The failed attempt to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom cost California taxpayers $276 million

Californians decided that Gov. Gavin Newsom would continue to serve as their governor after a costly recall election campaign. The race was called by Insider and Decision Desk HQ at 8:21 p.m. PT, projecting the "no" voters as the winners.

Newsom survived the recall, facing off against and beating 46 other candidates in a race that polled closely at times, and which political experts expected Newsom to survive.

But the money spent by California and money raised by factions in support and against the recall shows how pricey the failed recall election was.

Here are some of the key figures:

$276 million: The amount of money the recall election cost the state of California, according to the State Finance Department.

$80.5 million: The total amount in contributions from those in opposition to the recall going back to January of 2021, per the California Secretary of State's website. (This includes donations going to multiple committees against the recall.)

$16.5 million: The total amount in contributions from those in favor of the recall election dating back to January 2021, per the California Secretary of State's website. (This includes donations going to multiple committees for the recall.)

$13.8 million: The figure that Larry Elder, the leading opponent against Newsom, raised in the election.

$9.7 million: That's the amount of money candidate John Cox, the recall effort's largest single donor, raised for the election, according to the Los Angeles Times. Cox also ran as a candidate and lost in the recall, as well as in the general 2018 election.

$3.1 million: That's how much Netflix CEO Reed Hastings raised in the effort opposing the recall, making him the largest single donor against it, according to the Los Angeles Times.

According to the LA Times, overall, $83 million was raised in opposition to the recall and $45.2 million was raised in support of it.

To be fair, it wasn't just the GOP, but allegedly "progressive" Dems and Independents who put their personal financial blinders on rather than actually think of what is best for the state.

I hate that the loudest gripe against Gavin was his expensive outing. That’s just rich doing rich.

He was lucky he didn’t have to run on policy to avoid being recalled. He only had to run against a trumtard. That’s easy pickings.

Yes I wanted him gone but certainly not for elder or even worse Jenner.

Now on to 2022. Hopefully this opens the door for better candidates. Force him to run on how we are better under him. If it’s a replay of his last run where there was only one viable opposition on the dem side you can bet a qualified republican not tied to trump will give it a go. Who knows who that is but Gavin will have to run against someone based on policy, results and not just putting ads out there calling them a Trump republican

The newest crank self-treatment for COVID is drinking/snorting/gargling iodine, brand name Betadine. They are showing up in ER's with poisoning.

But god forbid we should make a generic comment that there are some very deeply stupid people in this country who actually think they are smart.

The above is a factual statement. It gets proven over and over again every day. There is nothing controversial about it. However it is very, very sad.

I don't want people to die of COVID when there is a very simple, effective shot that could prevent it.

I don't want people to hurt themselves, overdose or poison themselves for no good reason at all except stubbornness and ignorance.

I don't want one more single person in this country to get sick or die of COVID - not liberals, not conservatives, not libertarians, not old people, not young people, not kids -- no one.

But the truth is that the longer a certain segment refuses to get the vaccine, and refuses to mask up, and refuse to quarantine properly -- the more dangerous they make it for everyone because they are allowing the virus to mutate. They are also putting kids under 12 in more danger because young kids can't take the vaccine yet. So they are dependent upon responsible adults to behave rationally and not act like spoiled, bratty, self-indulgent children.

Is that too much to ask? Grow up, be responsible, protect yourself, your family, your neighbors and your community.

It's really amazing how stupid and uneducated a lot of the country is. Man, we have some really dumb hillbillies everywhere.
These people are so stupid, like seriously stupid. They read things or hear about things from their 2 tooth uncle/brother and decide to just take it.
Avoid taking a proven vaccine, but it's ok to pour a bunch of unproven toxins down your throat?? These people are so stupid.

There is no denying that significant segment of our populace is making dangerously poor decisions (not only dangerous for they themselves, but others around them) based on stupidity and ignorance. Others use misinformation and obfuscation to in an attempt to legitimize positions they know are incorrect or intellectually dishonest to serve a selfish, misguided, partisan agenda.

There is a direct correlation between the preponderance of such people and how they identify politically and socially. Noting that is simply stating factual deduction. There is a difference between saying something along the lines of "all Republicans are conspiracy nuts" and "those who perpetuate and fall prey to this particular, baseless conspiracy are essentially all Republican".

No. Definitely not. Simply engaging in the same destructive activities of the GOP because you want to fight fire with fire is highly counterproductive. But if Democrats can factually demonstrate policies and activities that have proven to suppress the voters, then they need to present those facts and work to eliminate those factors.
