I have a group of 8 staying at my house right now. Various mix of friends and family. It's unbelievable.

Didn't see any other thread where I could ask this question, so I will put it here.

Has anyone done any stargazing near Mount Wilson or up in Malibu or any place local?
I want to catch the Meteor shower next week and I can't make it out to Joshua Tree where I usually go.

You mean those hideous things that keep being left all over the sidewalks and being driver around by idiots who aren’t paying attention?

Apparently they got banned in SF and people were tossing them into the bay b

I was in Venice the other day and rode them for the first time. They're fun! I'm also extremely grateful they don't exist in my neighborhood.

Interesting. I was out on foot in SM for the first time in a while and I had no idea the things had been around long enough yet to be controversial.

Cities are probably realizing what a nuisance dockless scooters and bicycles rentals have become.

As I understand it, SM has already placed limits on Bird and is considering going the same route as SF and banning them.

A neighbor on our area website expressed the idea that people in our area place them over the fence along a stretch of the Expo line that can't be accessed by foot (not in the train right of way), thus making it extremely difficult for the people that pick them up and recharge to retrieve them. I can't say that I am against the idea - it's not theft and people would simply be getting them off their lawns and sidewalks.

Just went to the new Whole Foods in Burbank...might be the best one yet, at worst it's tied with Tustin.

Don't know if it's still open but back in the day Cliftons Cafeteria was very popular. Food was inexpensive and good quality.

Down the street from our offices. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.

I don’t know about it being inexpensive and good quality since investors bought and re-opened it a while back. All I remember is that it needed a ton of plumbing upgrades to get it up to code.

Was that flies on the food? I haven't been to Cliftons since the early 60's. It was nothing like that. Anyone here go to Cliftons around that time? If so they will tell you, the food was inexpensive and of good quality.

Another great spot was, if it's still open, Original Felipe's Restaurant 1001 North Alameda. The pastrami dip was sensational. Not good optics but great sandwiches. Been open since 1908.

Waiter, what's this fly doing in my soup? I'd say it's doing the backstroke, Sir.

Never been there. Went to Griswold's smorgasbord as a kid in Reds. One of maybe 2-3 buffets in S. Calif I can remember not being shyte. Only other kitschy one I can recall, least IE wise. Kitsch is good, flies aren't.
