Yes. Still a marketing draw and he has not been utilized plus injured. Anyways, sign him and trade him after a year or two.

I don't see the Lakers allowing themselves to be held hostage by Dwight and doing whirlwind changes to appease him.

It's unlikely the Lakers would be able to revamp their roster by August given our cap situation anyway.

The more likely pitch is that the Lakers are a desirable location that have always committed to bringing in talent players. Besides, if Dwight decides to go to another team as a free agent, I don't see that he'll have some tailored-made situation as an alternative.

If I had to bet, my bet is both MDA and Dwight are here next year.

you know i love the lakers to but for you guys to think that all the players just want a chance to play for the lakers and other things dont matter...is crazy. kobe held the lakers as hostage when he wanted what he wanted twice. why doesnt howard get to do the same things. when you have the upper hand that is what you do....and i dont see another star sitting out there do you?

Cuz Kobe has proven himself on the court for this franchise (statue after he retires). You can't say the same about D12.

Problem is, the other team's offense will be pretty damn fluid as well.

Howard can give it a shot but he's not Kobe... Kobe is among the very few NBA franchise players that can really carry a team; you don't buy that at supermarkets.

So... what was Brooklyn offering for him last offseason? Sign and trade might inject some life into this team if we're not taking back terrible contracts.

Dwight needs to accept who he is... he's a defensive beast. he should just be the anchor at that end... pouting about touches on the offensive end is not a good idea, especially since he's got around 5 or less offensive moves.

having said that. we need 2-way players from positions 1-3, and even a stretch 4, if we want howard to be successful playing for the Lakers.

As much as the Lakers need Dwight, he shows how small he is mentally by getting thrown out in the biggest game of the year. He basically quit on the team.

Tough (bleep). You need a superstar at the wing to survive in today's league but there are none available.

to which Dr. Buss responded... ok kiddo, stay or you're going to Detroit. the rest is history...
I am not too sure what other scenarios are better for Howard. the Lakers are his for the taking...

I'm trying to read his lips, but all I can see for sure is "Mitch"

It was reported in the game thread. Not exact quote but he told Mitch he needs to do something about this after Mitch tapped D12 on the ass in support when he walked by (assume he meant the refs BS)!!

Until Dr. Buss called is bluff and offered to trade him to Chicago, Kobe backtracked then.

Only way we bring in talent is a trade. Pau has played great lately and is the only asset we really have.

Would Houston trade us Parsons for Gasol if they knew Dwight would not go? Parsons is very good, but a player like Pau makes them a very well rounded team.

Honestly, this is going to be an interesting summer. I dont see what the Lakers can really do to make a team that Dwight can contend with.

Parsons makes like 1 million dollars lol where does the rest of the salary come from?

Small filler contract if needed. They have the cap room to absorb Paus contract.

Absolutely no chance in hell would they trade us Parsons for Gasol. Parsons is only going to get better. All around game and a good defender.
