I don't get why people are so in love with the idea of Dudley who played sparingly over one season returning... but think we'd be wasting a space on Pau who is a Lakers legend.

At least Pau is tall... he can shoot over most defenders and he'd make his brother happy and be an emotional support for him.

And I like Dudley... but if I have to choose one mascot, there's no question who I'd pick.

Pau is 40 and he hasn't played a full season in two years.

Dudley is 35 and was productive in limited minutes last year.

I wouldn't have signed Dudley, but he makes more sense to me than Pau.

I wanted Boogie, Dwight, or even Whiteside. Once those options were gone, I figured why not Pau. Playing a few minutes per game I'm sure his numbers won't be much different than Dudley's.

By few minutes you mean 0? How many games did Dudley play last season? He was still able to practice and stay healthy to get others better.

I'm sure we have G-Leaguers who could simulate better defense than Dudley for practice.

Again, I like Dudley... I just like Pau more... I don't remember any situation last season where I went... whew, thank God we have Dudley. Not one.

He had 1 game I remember where he was big time with his play.

And lest you forget, we are paying The Dud man, the same amount of money Howard signed for and he ACTUALLY contributed to the championship run...!

Not all of Robs' moves smell like roses, some just plain smell...

And signing Pau at this point would stink...!

When would we be able to sign Pau as the 15th man? Maybe they have this deal: for him to recover fully while that vet min salary goes down, then get that last 15th spot and have a short farewell tour

This. I think it goes down this way too

Seems inevitable.

Let’s make it happen. Having both Gasol brothers on the same team playing with a title contender would make for a lot of great storylines.

I mean, he would provide very little, if anything, on the court. In fact, might be more of a liability than helpful but I'm a sucker for a good story and him coming back in the #16 (which will be reined one day), along side his brother, playing with LeBron, and after losing Kobe would be the best story of the season.

On Road Trippin Lebron seemed pretty damn open about it. "We'll see"

Even if we were to choose Pau... wouldn’t we have to wait until Feb or March because of the cap?

Com’on, at 40 yrs old coming off two foot surgeries are you kidding me! Enough with this sentimental crap, it would be like a slower Noah coming back. He has nothing left, this makes no sense & helps us even less. My prediction is he lands on IR & we’re right back to trying to fill a 3rd center spot! Geez, Rob don’t do this & try to get Dedmond & promise him minutes or get someone younger!!!

Once again I’m not understanding why people don’t want Pau. He’s not going to play. Neither is Dudley, neither is Cook, neither is McKinnie. We are 11 deep.

We have our regular rotation of 10 players. THT will be our 11th man insurance.

Let’s say two of our main guys are out at the same time, I still don’t think Cook, McKinnie, and Dudley will get any playing time. Only if we have three guys out at once will Cook get additional playing time.

So that begs the question, why do people not want Pau? It doesn’t hurt.

Pau Gasol in a wheel chair could still play 8 mpg ..with Davis?

You can squeeze 8 minutes out of him.

You guys act like our last guys on the bench like Dudley and Kostas played much at all last yr.

With the last spot for Pau... give it to him.

Why should the Lakers spend another Mill on players who can’t play?

Whoever the Lakers sign isn’t gonna get many minutes. It would be nice to have an extra big to give a few minutes here and there. Pau could be perfect for that. Give him a non-guaranteed contract in case the Lakers need to sign someone else later.

Typical reaction here in LG. Trust the front office, they will know if Pau has anything left. I am sure they will do there due diligence. If they decide to sign Pau, I will support the FO decision. They more likely see a role he can play for us in our quest for #18.
