Quote:
It would be the Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier of basketball.

Imagine Kobe Bryant and LeBron James stepping onto a basketball court to play a game of one-on-one, pure intensity vs. pure strength.

The question is, who would win?

Basketball fans envision the epic battle and indefatigably debate its enigmatic outcome. NBA players, whom regularly play with both men, are no different.

In one of a series of interviews at the Drew League vs. Goodman League rematch last month at Long Beach State, Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant said Bryant would win.

"He's probably the best one-on-one player in the game," Durant said.

I was a fan of Kevin Durant before this vid and an even bigger fan of his after having watched this vid. Not for the fact he chose Kobe, but for the fact that he's so humble.

Gotta root for dudes like him when there not playing the Lakers...

From your finger tips to God's ears.

(And why I spelled "there" there instead of "they're" there we'll never know)

Sad, but true - unless during the 1 on 1 game Kobe in one of those few spurts where he plays Amazing.

I think Kobe is more talented that Lebron James. James is stronger and bigger but on sheer will power alone, Kobe will beat Lebron James.

Kobe is the best one-on-one player to ever play the game.

I think Durant mean is PRIME Kobe.

I don't think old Kobe has that much strength left to contain someone 5-6 year younger.

Prime Kobe vs prime Lebron, no contest.. Kobe eats him up. And now after I've seen Lebron in important situations, I think 33 yr old Kobe can still give him a run for his money. Kobe has a few built-in free possessions because by habit alone, in tense situations, Lebron's going to swing the ball to the top of key thinking Mario Chalmers is there, then he'll start to back-track on defense. Ball will fly outta bounds and Kobe gets it back.

InB4 Durant for Pau
or Durant for Bynum + Odom

The 1 on 1 should be arranged as follows:

1. 3-pts shots
2. Mid-range jumper
3. Turn-around three point jumpers
4. Attack from the perimeter
5. Low post moves - face forward and the other way round
6. Left hand shots
7. off-the-ball movements (I dont know what I am talking about)
8. dribbling skills
9. faking moves
10. creativity of shots

and finally
11. crab-dribble disallowed.

Kobe basically just hand a room full of players pick him as the best player in the game, sans John Wall going with "logic" and stating that Bron's size "SHOULD" help him win. Even then, Wall seemed hesitant to state that James would play his best, almost hinting at the notion that he'd tense up and suddenly play a different style - something that closely resembles LeBron's 4th Qtr Finals performances.

Even today, Kobe one on one would beat LeBron. But a 26 year old Kobe vs 26 LeBron...damn it would be an absolute massacre.

Liked KD answer when he said he's no where near Kobe, LeBron and Wade. He's genuinely humble and works hard.

Yah i saw that too. Cool how he actually picked up the college kid and his buddies and drove them to the game. KD acts how every normal person who dreams of being a superstar thinks that they would act. All the money/fame/girls in the world but still keep it down to earth and approachable.
