Hi everyone, as you can see I'm a new member. I've actually been lurking on this site for a long time (6 years?), been a lakers and kobe fan for 10 years.
Kobe came to Singapore and I went to catch him, so i would like to share with you guys.
He came to Marina Bay Sands (MBS - an integrated resort which includes casino, branded retails stores and other stuffs in the central area of Singapore) and had a private event which i couldnt enter. But after that he went to the grand opening of the new LV flagship store which is at MBS too. While he was walking towards the flagship store, a group of his fans started following him and taking photos along the way. As people started to realise its Kobe Bryant, the commotion became bigger. He went into the LV grand opening event (which is also private and included other hollywood celebrities).
He had another public appearance at 10pm which he just came to pick out lucky draw winners and answered some questions (lasted 10 mins). But the crowd was crazy - chanting KOBE! KOBE! all the way. In fact I'm having a sore throat now. After the event, my friend and I followed him to an italian restaurant. We waited outside for 2 hours for him. When he finally came out, we asked for his autograph and he was really friendly! He came over, signed on our t-shirts. I was so nervous at that time and all i could say was "Go Lakers!". He smiled and pat me on my shoulder and said "thank you".
I was too nervous and i forgot to request to take a photo with him. Another guy had the honour to take a photo with him. In fact, kobe was so friendly he put his arms on the guy's shoulders!
Anyway, at the end of the day my friend and i were really ecstatic! Kobe rarely comes to Singapore, so we were glad that we can catch him. AND he was a really cool and friendly person.
Btw, kobe's trip to singapore was very low profile (i don't know why). There was no publicity whatsoever. I only knew about it when i saw a tweet. But still, kobe is kobe, so it isnt suprising that there were still quite a huge number of turnout!
P.S. i don't know how to upload the photos here =p |

Congrats on finally signing up, and welcome to LG.
Pretty awesome you got to meet Kobe and even got his autograph.
If you want to upload pics, try uploading them on a site like photobucket, and after you do so, the site will give you a link that you can post here. |
