If we lose this game Lakers are going fishin. Tomorrow we find out EVERYTHING about this team, either they are a team of fighters or a team of chumps and just blow this team up and start from scratch. The first five minutes of this game tomorrow will tell us EVERYTHING we need to know about the Lakers

How does the first 5 minutes of a 48 minute game tell you everything about a team?

It gives you a good idea what their mindset is, just like in the 3rd quarter when the first five minutes tells you if we have a chance of winning or not, same thing. If we come out tomorrow with the same body language as in Game 2 they won't win. They have to come out like they want it more then the other team

I'll give them the first quarter to tell me.

Huge game on the road, seems like something a championship contender team would relish. Hopefully we see that reflected in their level of play tomorrow. Still will keep hoping the Lakers can pull this off, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned with how casually the Lakers seemed to close Game 2. Just saw zero sense of urgency and it really felt like a team that saw "the writing on the wall" and was ready to be put out of their misery. Hope that wasn't actually the case, and these guys are ready to move on.

i actually thought the first five minutes or so in game 2 were okay to pretty good. the ball was moving, pau and bynum were aggressive and kobe was choosing good shots. i think it wasn't until after their rhythm was disrupted a bit due to our shots not falling while the mavs were hitting bucket after bucket (a couple of them wide open or easy shots after our misses) that we lost our composure and never really gained it back.

i am, of course, interested in seeing how they come out, because if they don't come out completely focused and ready to play, we have no chance. but i also want to see us be able to handle a mavs run without falling apart. i've never seen us so bad at getting stops when necessary or making a crucial bucket to stop the bleeding.

one thing that's going to be really tough is the dallas crowd. they have every reason to cheer -- they finally made it to round 2 AND they beat us twice at home. those fans are going to bring it.

we need to come out, shut them down and not let them get into the game. i think our players can handle the noise, but i don't want the crowd giving the dallas bench even more confidence than they already have.

GO TEAM!
