For some reason Kobe doesn't get to the basket well against the Celtics and for some reason when Kobe gets the ball the whole team stands still and makes Kobe shoot a bad shot or turn it over.

So if you go back and watch every game so far this series most of Kobe's points come whenever he is shooting long 3's and jumpshots. And he is getting open like Ray Allen..by running through screens and catching, waiting a second, then shooting.

And unlike Ray Allen Kobe doesnt miss threes if he has any space. And when he gets hot he doesn't miss. And threes get the crowds out of the game Quick

Then whenever the Defense starts to cheat and double Kobe on the catch he can just zoom a pass to a wide open artest and fisher and get hockey assist.

Interesting interpretation. Ray is no Kobe Bryant, but impact wise in this series, I could see how you can come up with that conclusion. Minus the 0 for 13 of course.

Kobe gets no calls I finally started coming to that conclusion, its crazy. So he's forced to play that way.

Some of you are just so (bleep) predictable.

ray allen is no different then any other player who tries to play tough by using the shane battier hand in the face, the bruce bowen step under player while he's in the air tactic and the world famous flop (see game 2)...in addition when kobe goes by him the celtic bigs dont foul because they are aggressive (per the announcers)....this also applies to the other allen...who we've been told is so good at taking away kobe left/right...translation, he's allowed to foul or play 80's defense (hand checks, bodying, etc)...too bad kobe cant return the favor

Against my better judgment, I am going to bite, and ask you if you would care to explain your statement?

I am not trying to say that Ray Allen is at all equal to Kobe. I am trying to say Kobe can become incredibly affective if he plays like Ray Allen does.....Just imagine Ray Allen x10

I think the OP is referring strictly to the manner in which Allen and Bryant have been scoring their points. Open Jumpers.

I don't really agree with that statement though. Kobe has been a lot more versatile then Allen has, you just don't notice it because he hasn't hit those shots. He's making it to the paint every game. A hell of a lot more than in 08 and thats for sure.

Kobe's play is too predictable. He catches the ball, holds onto it for way too long, dribbles and takes a contested jumpshot. He needs to change it up and make a quick drive to the basket every once in a while.

He is probably waiting for someone to set a pick or MOVE

Kobe is taking too many outside shots. I don't understand why the Lakers just won't drive to the basket- Boston HAS no shot blockers, outside of Garnett, and even Garnett doesn't go after every single shot like he used to. If the Lakers can get some type of penetration, from Kobe, Fish and especially LO, they can get better production. They can't worry about whether or not they will get the calls, just drive when the opening is there. That's it.

Exactly! So many good things happen when we attack the basket.

I agree. Kobe will go 0-13 and 0-8 from 3 next game just like Ray Allen.

bullsh...about kobe not attacking the basket. he just has guys who's allowed to handcheck him and hit him while he's shooting the f'ing ball.

of course kobe's been playing well enough on the d side of the floor that rondo has been ineffective.

otherwise i can see how kobe=ray allen...NOT!
