Fisher is a love/hate relationship.

Not really. It's a bad shot regardless of whether or not it went in.

Fisher has played a good game and has hit timely shots....some of you guys just CANNOT let go of the hate even when he plays well.

WHo on this planet is gonna lock down russel westbrook? The kids got AI speed ffs.

Who said anything about locking down? Just staying in front of the guy more often than not would be a welcome change.

And Iverson speed? Give me a break. Luke Walton looks like he has Iverson speed compared to Number Two.

The argument still stands, who can stay in front of this kid? In todays NBA nobody can stay in front of anyone the way the rules have been structured.

Just admit that Fisher played well...or does it kill you that much? Be happy, we are 1-0 in the playoffs against a team with a fast stud running point. Fish played well and we walk away with the lead in the series. Just leave it at that.

Artest gives away everything on the offensive end that he gaines on the defensive end. :/

It seemed that their coach got them to reduce the amount of emotion they put in the game vs just executing and playing hard and getting ready for the next game

Agree.

It's refreshing, isn't it?

The D today was awesome.

Refs got a little happy with the whistles in the 4th for the visitors.

I think Phil knew this team had played a lot of ball over the last 2 years and was keeping practice time down until the playoffs.

We should see the O and shooting improve as get move through the first 2 rounds.

Can't knock the effort and we had a couple of chances to blow the game open, but missed some easy shots. (I'm not sayin no names, but Artest).

If we play D like we did today the rest of the post season. I have no worries about the Lakers repeating.

Agreed. The reason the Lakers offense sucked is because OKC also played good D.

Sure. Tell that to Ron Artest.

4-for-12 shooting and dog (bleep) defense is considered to be a good game? Maybe by his standards. The team won despite his crappiness. Tell it like it is.

OKC played good d and has young legs. Lakers D was better.
If Durant goes off in a game it could be a different story though.

Yeah, Durant was shaking his head all game long...RonRon did a tremendous job, used his fouls really well.

No team that plays for whistles should ever win a ring. Unfortunately we have seen it happen before. Detroit...Miami. I was disappointed in Durant, whom i like very much. He was constantly trying to draw whistles today, which IMO was the reason he had such a bad night. This isnt the regular season...they arent gonna call those for you. You have to earn it in the playoffs. Play to score, play to get stops. Dont play for whistles and pray for free throw attempts.

Cleveland plays much better D. Holding them to 44% while we shoot 34% will equal us getting blown out. Last year we had very good defense that could become great when needed. But then we also had the best offense of any of the contenders.

This year our defense is great, unless teams repeatedly hit our weak spot (Fisher), but now our offense is awful.

Give me a mixture of great D and O anyday. Right now, we're the Charlotte Bobcats 2.0.

Lebron suck at shooting jumper while Durant is good.

Lebron has advantage of strength way over Durant tho.

Defense is pretty much as good as it gets for LA. The only issue really was they were offensively challenged. Artest is at a point where you're surprised when his 3 actually does go in, but in general this team's perimeter shot is rather mediocre. OKC did a good job clogging the passing lanes, but as a title contender, the Lakers really need to figure out how to run their offense and exploit that size advantage.

Overall, LA should be happy with the win and the defensive effort, but they definitely gotta ask themselves how they only scored 87 points. For OKC, losing sucks but hanging with the defending champs in your first playoff game with Durant not having an amazing night is certainly not bad. Even if they lose Game 2, I think they definitely like their chances at home.

can someone tell me why the team got away from feeding the bigs after the 1st quarter? our offense in the last three quarters were pathetic, luckily our defense bailed us out. we were unstoppable offensively in that 1st quarter.

I don't think Fisher played that bad but this is LG where unless fisher goes 15/10(I did that on purpose) from the field then he is the worst player in mankind history. If the Lakers can play defense like that the rest of the season our chances of repeating go way up.

The biggest concern though is Kobe shooting. We really need him to score in the 25-30 range on 45-50% shooting for us to win the ring. He missed alot of easy shots. If I was Phil I would look to put Kobe more in the post to give him better looks and where he is more likely to get fouled. Kobe also needs to bulk back up in the off season to the 220-225 lbs that he was a few seasons ago if he wants to be really effective in the post.

Damn Durant was 1-8 from downtown, good job by the Lakers. We'll have no problem beating this team if we just do the obvious offensively, pound it inside.
