|
|
They are KILLING Andrei Kirilenko on Utah talk radio today (700 on the AM dial). His production is down due to Boozer & Williams needing the ball and it's causing AK47 to lose focus (big drops in every category except personal fouls, which is a career high).
The fans & hosts think the Jazz need a guy who can facilitate the offense like AK, but also needs to be able to hit the 3 and stay focused even when he's not getting touches.
That sounds EXACTLY like Luke Walton to me! If we could send them Walton+McKie+big salary, that would at least pique their interest!
UNFORTUNATELY - the only salary big enough to make it work is Kwame's.
Would you send Kwame+Luke+McKie to Utah? Would Utah accept?
I think AK would get the requisite touches given our lack of a #2 option and - with his ability to guard all 5 positions - would give us the TRUE Pippen to Kobe's Jordan.
AK and Odom both can play either forward position, so we can switch a lot of things and AK can stop the high screen & roll all by himself with his reach/recover/weakside help ability. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

AK is not a good offensive player. He is surely not better than Lamar Odom on offense.
If he loses focus when he doesn't get as many touches as he wants to, and plays poorly as a result, then we don't need him. _________________ Jeffs

I'd do it.
AK is in a slump but he would be a defensive monster next to Bynum, Kobe and Lamar.. |

No, Kwame and Luke is too much for Kirilenko. I'd love for him to be on this team, but no way this trade proposal can happen. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |

We wouldn't trade Kwame with Bynum not ready to roll yet. However, next year, if Mihm is 100 %, we could make a deal. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

AK also has a history of getting nicked up regularly, probably because of his build and the way he plays. I think Luke is really a vital glue guy on this team, and Kwame's post defense is vital. Ak brings blocks and some perimeter defense, but not at that cost. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. I don't think it's a clear no. Look at what we're doing now without Lamar and Kwame. AK47 + Andrew Bynum can cause a lot of havoc. You then make Turiaf a MADE guy and ingrain him into the rotation. Bynum, Turiaf, Lamar and Ak47 is enough for upfront rotation. |

No way in the world Utah would do that.
As for me, I'd give up anyone on this team outside of Kobe, Odom, and Bynum in a heartbeat for AK.

luke is the perfect triangle player. he's getting better every year, he's unselfish, he has a good attitude and he's cheap.
kirlenko can't play 3 games without getting injured and he doesn't seem to get along well with his teammates.
no thanks. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

Winning cures everything, including over-valuing our own players. Heck, you got threads asking if you would deal Farmar for KG and there are some here who honestly said NO. That's how dillusional some fans can be. I agree, Utah would not trade AK47 for Kwame and Luke, but it is a good argument. |

Can't stay healthy, near max contract. All this to add one or two more blocks to the Lakers? At what cost. Lakers only has Kwame's contract that comes close enough.
No. Lakers are doing fine. |

it's risky, but i'd do it. we'd need to acquire another big to make up for the loss of kwame. bynum's foul trouble can't handle 30 minutes a night. |

On the Utah boards, they think they can get Vince straight up for AK.
And Davidse tore them a new one for thinking like that. _________________ Think about how stupid the avg. person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
