Lonzo is a glue guy. His numbers will not stand out, but he just knows how to play the game to win.

Derozan functions much better surrounded by shooters. I don't think this is the right offense for him. Any possessions where he's not setting up the offense means defenses sagging off of him to crowd AD/Lebron.

Chicago ranked 20th in 3% compared to the Lakers at 8th.

Considering JJ wants more 3 pointers to us up from our league bottom frequency, adding Derozan really doens't make sense. It only makes sense from a "Rob looking like he got someone" perspective.

That's a different point than the one you originally made. But one player alone isn't going to fix the 3 point shooting volume.

Sorry, but i dont find the "one player isn't going to fix X" reasoning particularly useful. Yes, everything is improved holistically. No one player solves a deficiency, but a glaring one you're trying to correct, and with very limited resources at that, should move in that direction. We're likely only adding two new players to our roster and one of them has to be a big. So i would say whatever new wing we acquire should improve our shooting volume/efficiency.

I think Grant is almost a neutral move… Much older and rebounds the ball worse than Rui.

definitely not a rebounding or defense guy if you're into that kind of thing. I prefer to keep Rui at half the cost.

Yea that also… Grant numbers are also as a Top2 option on that team… His numbers will go down a lot here being the 4th option. People here complain about how bad of a rebounder Rui is. Wait until you see Grant.

Rui’s number as a 5th option starter on this team is really efficient.

Maybe but how else can we sign anyone? You gotta trade 2 or 3 for 1 to open some spots.

I would not do the deal for the sake of opening up roster spots… You take on a similar player on a bad contract so you can open to sign someone for the mle/vet minimums? And Give up a young wing on a good contract?

If thats Rob’s best move, man I rather just run it back.

So, what do you think the Lakers FO is trying to do as priority number 1?
It's awfully quiet in Lakerland...

I do think Chris Paul to the *purs is a good signing by them.

He should be able to get the ball to Wemby in good spots on the floor.

They have to make a multiple player trade to open up roster spots, so right now Rob is probably on the phone

Agree, and I don't want to overpay for either of those players who have never really made a difference in terms of winning.

If Lonzo ever got healthy and was willing to sign for cheap, I'd definitely try to give him a chance to prove himself.

Lakers roster seems unbalanced at present, we have a lot of guards:

DLO, Vincent, Knecht, Reaves, Christie, JHS, Bronny, etc.

Adding Klay to that would seem log a further logjam.

Rather have DD or Klay versus Trae. He is so small, lousy on defense. Does he make us better????

My feeling is Klay already decided, and either the Mavs or Lakers are looking for a 3rd team to dump salaries. The fact Lakers has not made any other moves meaning they’re still in it.

If Klay goes to Dallas… Lakers will pivot on Grant/Derozan/Trae/Cam Johnson and Lavine as a last effort. If they miss on those too, Bron takes the max.

Just my assumption.

I agree. Klay does not do it for me, especially if we have to trade for him. I am sure the Warriors are going to want DLO. I am FAR from a DLO fan, but it would be a backwards move in my opinion. Klay for the MLE is a win. Klay is a trade is a loss.

AD-Wood-Hayes
Lebron (FA)-Vanderbilt-Reddish
Rui-Christie-Lewis
Dlo-Gabe-JHS
Reaves-Knecht-Bronny

Some of these bums needs to go, only way to facilitate further moves

Dd is a la legend. Love the guy. However outside of Ariza, ( not going back too far) guys that go home don’t really flourish. Especially a guy who has been around.

I say Trae because it fits pelinka and jj.

Reddish and Hayes are junk
Wood is borderline junk
JHS and Lewis are totally unproven and didn't show much in their limited PT
Knecht and Bronny are rookies and Bronny will be a G league
Gabe Vincent was awful last year/hurt

15 guys a lot of question marks

Bron taking that max now.
