You're judging DDR by what he's shown as a #1 option vs what he could potentially be as a #3 option. Not the same.

I would absolutely trade Rui for Klay in a S&T if GS is willing to do it… it would mean we’d still have our MLE if Bron is willing to cut his salary to $25m. Dump Vincent, Reddish and Hayes to Detroit w draft picks and then he’s likely still be able to get $38m and we can use the MLE as well.

Please DeMar. I watched a lot of Bulls games last year, living in Chicago, and this guy is the real deal. The team sucked and he put them on his back numerous times

I can’t believe they are letting him go and he’s potentially available to us.

Please make it happen!

I trust you. Especially because you live in Chicago, DeRozan is a killer on the court and we need that, I hope it happens, it will be good to see him in a Laker uniform

How much fun is it gonna be when Woj drops the surprise tweet, "BREAKING: The Utah Jazz have agreed in principle on a trade to send C Lauri Markkanen to the Los Angeles Lakers for D'Angelo Russell, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Cam Reddish, two unprotected first-round picks, and two unprotected pick swaps, sources tell ESPN."

The Warriors are likely not taking salary back. They prob want to get under the luxury tax and reset. They might get a second for their troubles but the Lakers are looking for another team to dump salary.

He is a 29.6 % career shooter from 3 PT. He will be given same treatment as Brick

Isn't that literally how we all talked ourselves into Russ maybe working? .... "well, he'll be different as a 3rd option".

DeMar isn't Russ but it's the same logic. At least Klay only plays off ball and can still shoot a high level.

If Mikal Bridges just fetched 5 picks, Markkanen for 2 picks in 2029 and 2031 would be a STEAL.

Derozan would be no killer here, as his offensive sweet spots, the midrange and the post, are already being taken by our two best players. He would struggle to be himself here and all the fans that clamored for him would be here posting more anti Rob soliloquies. No thanx.

I guess it'll happen at the same time Lauri grows 2" and adds 65lbs to become the center you think he is.

Just trade DLO or Rui to Jazz for Kessler to get a big plus open up enough salary for Klay or DeRozan?

DDR's true value would be that Bron can rest 20-25 games during the RS, and we'd still have a team capable of getting to 50 wins. Emphasis on "capable of", before I get hammered.

lol...if Klay really wanted to play in LA, he would have taken the vet min instead of the MLE right at the start of FA. The fact that he's still negotiating means he wants as big a contract as possible because he knows it's probably his last NBA contract.

If he really wants to play for LA, he should pay Lakers and play

If it's legal, Jeanie would love that.

This feels like the exact same reasoning for acquiring Westbrook. I like Demar but i do worry about his fit here.

The days where LBJ can rest in regular season to unleash himself in playoffs are gone. He needs rest all the time.
the only way this works is if LBJ can be a sopt up shooter and let DDR handle the ball

Klay is just a running off screens, catch and shoot guy, the improvement between him and DLO is very marginable if you look at the stats and not their names.

Demar on a team with other scorers would be a big upgrade.

Teams used to key on him last year cause the Bulls were awful - not gonna be able to do that on the Lakers.

It's called sell high.... from an owners perspective, it's not the best time for Lakers ownership to sell
