Patrick Williams getting 18M a year.
why and how? I mean he stays hurt. He played 43 games lol. And he’s not White or DeRozan. It’s like they wanted another bad deal to match Lonzo

Kind of thing puts into perspective how much of a bargain we've got some of our players for.

Patrick Williams getting 18M a year.

Pretty shocking considering he didn’t take a big leap this year

You want young wings with 3&d potential. It going to cost you.

This already proven by Mikal Bridges and OG deals.

Bridges and OG are proven commodities who have already proven they can make a difference… Patrick Williams? Not so much

Reason why those guys makes way more… Why Mikal cost 5 1st.

Can the Lakers fit this under a hard cap?:

- Sign and trade for DeRozan.

- Trade for 2 3 and D players. A guard and a wing. If possible, maybe one is a legitimate contributor on offense.

- Big depth.

I'd consider that a good result of the off-season.

LeBron, AD, DDR, and 1 of the 3 and D guys are a good top 4. AR would be a good 6th man. Some solid role players there too.

He had a bad game. He wasn’t the reason they were in the play in. He’s like this on the list for them. Wiggins is 1 because of his issues and play, as he went from winning it all to checking out. Draymond deciding to be nuts and get suspended so much was 2. Then Klay.

Anyone putting that season on Klay is ridiculous. That Warriors team were never the same after the Draymond punch then got suspended beginning of the season. That team were being held together by a band aid. Wiggins family issues. Having to rely on a couple of rookies. An owner who keeps getting in the way. There’s a reason Bob Myers got the hell out of there. He knew this day was coming and didn’t want to be a part of it.

I’m willing to point that Klay’s down season has more to do with all the dysfunction rather than him heading on a major decline. Sure he’s not pre-injury Klay anymore but he is still one of the best snipers in the league.

What? Klay was making superstar money. 2nd most behind Steph. It was his fault. They benched him at times

Yeah it became his fault the second he had an issue with them coddling and paying Green lol. Because he had an issue from that summer negotiations to the end of the year

They paid Green when he became a free agent and he didn't have a repaired ACL and Achilles

The Warriors had agreed to give George a max, four-year extension upon arrival. They believed they had proposed several variations of a trade that the Clippers could and would accept. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green were 100 percent on board. George gave strong indications he wanted to join the Warriors. But the Clippers never agreed to any version of a trade, and now George is a free agent and essentially beyond the Warriors’ reach.

• Any possible PG13 trade between the Warriors and Clippers was always going to be complicated, but Warriors executives thought they’d solved the puzzle. From what I’ve heard, some combination (but definitely not all) of Wiggins, CP3, Jonathan Kuminga or Moses Moody plus one future first-round pick were put into discussions with the Clippers.

My understanding is that the money concerns weighed heavily on the Clippers’ side. If PG13 leaves as a free agent, they get nothing back … but they also get out from the second apron and have more roster maneuverability.

Paul George was nearly a Warrior, but Clippers weren't willing to pull the trigger.

Fire sale as in trading off Curry? Or just the vets like Draymond and Wiggins?

I wouldn’t either… Some combination but not all plus 1 pick? That’s a (bleep) offer.

FO will definitely talk to Curry and Draymond to see what they want to do. But I don’t see them contending next season. Both those guys will have less value next year.

Wiggins/Kuminga/Moody is already being shopped. But they’re not getting a star for those guys.

The Warriors only realistic move remaining is to take a shot at Zach LaVine. You can basically get him for nothing - Paul, Payton, Looney expirings - just pull the trigger and pray.

If the Clippers are not sold on paying PG then I would jump at flipping him for Kuminga. Kuminga is better than letting him go for nothing.

The problem is having to take Wiggins' contract for the next 3 seasons. Which you may not want if you saw him play last season. Wiggins may have to be involved because of the new CBA restrictions and the Warriors being hard capped for aggregating contracts.

I don’t see them taking on that contract… Owner is tired of paying high taxes not to make the playoffs. They want to get under the apron, and only took a stab at PG13 as a last effort. Even after all that, and after seeing what they were offering the Clippers, they didn’t seem like they were that serious either.

Seem like writing was on the wall after Bob Meyers got the hell out of there.

There's no reason for George to accept less money from the Clips. There's a good chance they will trade him before long anyway (started shipping him last summer. Did exactly that to Blake). At this point I'd ask for a NTC or bolt to Philly.

I don’t blame either team for passing. PG is a distressed asset. He’s always always always hurt, and he isn’t exactly known for stepping up in the playoffs. Dubs likely wanted to unload Wiggins and keep at least Kuminga without giving up too much, since just paying PG was already a huge gamble given his history. Clippers are already paying out the butt for their team, and if the Dubs weren’t giving up the farm for PG, I can see why they’d gamble on keeping PG at a slightly more reasonable deal if other interested teams didn’t step up with the max offers PG is hoping for.

Klay getting open looks from all the attention LBJ and AD create would bring him back to looks during the Currry and Durant run. If AR gains some muscle it could create another threat that can finish better on contact. That spacing allows for a defender like Vando to play more and Rui and Knect to get a lot of bench touches. Dlo for a center helps round out the roster.

The Lakers cannot give up Vanderbilt with Russell to get Thompson if it’s a sign and trade.

That would be a big big mistake.

No sign and trade needed.

Golden State is going to get something back for him..

He’s looking for more than the mid level, I think.

The Lakers cannot give up Vanderbilt for him with Russell. Again, that would be a big mistake. I wouldn’t give up Vincent with Russell either, btw, which is the other player being floated around.

There was a report that the warriors will do a S&T to get him more salary lol — like doing him a favor. I dunno if the rules allow for that or whatever considering all these rules with the aprons but that’s what the OP was referring to, i believe.

I also am very against doing any trade for him

Is there any chance we are at least getting CP3 in the deal or Moses Moody to lessen the blow?
