Goods news about him opting in. I appreciate what Dlo brings. I hope he stays.

I think DLO is deserving of that salary so I have no problem with him staying on the team. I do think the writing is on the wall though.

That expiring contract is easily tradeable. Either by himself or with other players to acquire a large contract. It may not be this summer, but I don't see him making it past the trade deadline.

This is great news, really no other interpretation here. If you love Dlo, then he’s back. If you hate Dlo, you didn’t lose him for nothing and he becomes an excellent trade piece with his expiring deal. Win-win.

I would say at this point the move would be to flip Rui/Gabe/1sts for a 3nD wing or a big.

Roster looks to be locked in, looks like last roster spot will be TP or a Center. Unless Hayes opts out they can bring in both.

I hope they try to flip either combination of AR, Rui, JHS, Gabe, and picks for a quality SG or SF

The team still has too many players that play only one side of the ball

At least one trade needs to be made to fix this. Doesn’t have to be DLo, but his expiring deal would be one of our better assets

Last thought…I don’t wanna hear (bleep) from Rob about a deal not being available with the pieces he has in hand. At minimum, get a real center, a real 3 and D wingman, or ideally both. Get it done, because we can’t roll out three defensive liabilities next to Bron and AD next season while expecting to have any chance at contending.

Glad to see he opted in. Need to trade him for sure this time whether it be now or at the deadline and not risk losing him next year for nothing. Luckily he came back this time

As I'm reading on Twitter, D'lo opting in means that we are now a 1st Apron team officially. This means that not only can we not take in a player in a sign-and-trade (which we pretty much already knew wouldn't happen), but that we also can't take in higher salary than we send out in a trade. Please keep this in mind if you're trying to construct trades on Fanspo and the like. Gotta be taking in less money.

With DLO opting in... Good news is that Trae is more than unlikely now to happen. ATL don't want DLO, and pairing them together would be a disaster.

I was concerned when the overpay of the Bridges trade came out. The Caruso and Murray trades…tho disappointing not with the Lakers…at least they restored some sanity to the general value of the trade market.

It seems those two would have really helped the Lakers improve toward ship contention and they both went for a reasonably lower cost than expected.

I don't think the Lakers really need to get rid of or trade anyone at this point.

They can move forward with their draft picks and their roster they had and see if JJ is smart enough to run the lineup that worked last season and just start the season with that.

If JI wants postseason success he knows damn well he needs a reliable fourth in the playoffs. Dlo isn’t a third and isn’t a reliable fourth when he can’t meet his average … and no don’t go with the excuse and outlier game bs to protect him, his playoff averages are worse than the season three straight postseasons.

He also has to look at the fact Vando missed a whole damn year basialllt minus the month he averaged 1 point per game and that Rui got hurt for a fourth a year too.

If he can get a fourth to boost Bron AD Reaves who actually has a history of good playoff numbers, he would love that as a coach because he’s going to be judged by the playoffs not the season. JJ could go and win 60 games and if he loses in the playoffs while Dlo plays below average again, he and JJ both go have a media (bleep) storm where people say JJ shouldn’t have been hired, Bronny spot should have went to someone else, and people pretend Dlo has a free agent market again when no locker room lines up to pay him and we do the maybe he will grow a heart and playoff nuts stuff again lol

I’d argue Trae is way, way more likely with Russell opting in.

From the reports it sounds like Dlo will be in LA to start the season

Lebron will opt out tomorrow... I'm hoping one of Cam or Hayes also opts out. Both of them would be great. Then we can talk about opening up the full mle, assuming the Lebron taking a paycut rumor is legit.

Isn’t that just DLo saying that though?

Rob might have other ideas

Lakers center Jaxson Hayes is exercising his $2.4 million player option to return for the 2024-25 season, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Hayes reunites with new coach JJ Redick.

Woike says the Lakers are expected to re-sign Max Christie, though he notes that Christie is "expected to have interest from rival teams." He also notes that the Lakers can, of course, match any offer he receives.

I made a post about that. No, we do not, now that we are a 1st Apron team with D'lo's salary officially on the books.
