If this is a trend, It's an even bigger mistake that the Lakers didn't capitalize on last year's much friendlier trade market.

Compare this to some of the trades that happened last year, and it's crazy.

Or last years draft in picking Whitmore, JJJ, or Podz. Our pick from last year has no trade value either because he sucked. Lol

Told that Knicks’ trade for Mikal Bridges does not change their hope that they can re-sign free agent OG Anunoby. That remains a priority for the club.

Not one that's worth it either.. mortgaging your future for role players ain't no way to go through life.

Feels like a Ben Simmons buyout is getting more likely. After dealing Bridges, Brooklyn also trading to get their 2025 pick back from Houston seems a pretty clear indication they're tanking.

Miami and the Lakers would be the two destination I figure he would look to (though he did split with Klutch a bit ago).

Just think about how masterful the Celtics were with their trades last season.

Look at the Porzingis trade:

https://www.nba.com/news/kristaps-porzingis-trade-celtics-3-team-deal

Quote:
Celtics receive:

Kristaps Porzingis (via Wizards)
No. 25 pick in 2023 Draft (via Grizzlies)
2024 first-round pick (top-four protected, via Warriors)

Grizzlies receive:

Marcus Smart (via Celtics)

Wizards receive:

Tyus Jones (via Grizzlies)
Danilo Gallinari (via Celtics)
Mike Muscala (via Celtics)
No. 35 pick in 2023 Draft (via Celtics)

They traded Smart, 2 salary filler, and a SRP for Porzingis and 2 FRP.

Since they got KD for free, they've gotten all of this for free then.

That's a great overall just depends on how the Knicks do going forward.

Major questions for sure. He has also had mental health issues and back surgery. We're not talking about a former #1 pick. We're talking about a role player reclamation project. Not clear if it's worth it, but his pedigree is elite.

JJ was a teammate and iirc had some connection to Simmons.

You get Kuzma for 3 1st round picks....

I’m not sure about that either at this point.

I have a feeling we might go after Cam Johnson with a Vando/Vincent package (plus picks)

I think making being able to make a major deal without trading away Reaves is HIGHLY unlikely now.

I think this just set the market on how little value picks have.

I hope the Lakers are open to trading away AR AND keeping DLo. It's the way to maximize the Lakers' trade assets. It's not that I love DLo, but he realistically helps this team more than what you can get for him. And, I think all of the main supporting cast needs to have lesser roles anyway, including AR.

D'Lo might just be salary at this point in terms of trade value.

Knicks gave up 5 FRPs, 4 without any protections. That's absolutely insane for a glorified third option. Mikal is a solid player but this was clearly an all-in move and Knicks bet against themselves. Nets took it and pulled the trigger because no other team offered such an insane haul.

Remember when we were gonna get Mikal for Reaves, Russell and 2 firsts?

I really hope Pelinka isn't getting any ideas trading all of our draft picks.

And lakers will still hold onto Le-corpses James and Day2Davis for another half decade. It’s so depressing just to think about it.

If he's gonna butcher another draft then might as well cash in 17 for someone useful.

Reaves will be better than Bridges.
