If anyone is ganna make fun of LS for his high post count - don't even try it. It's a LAKERS message board. So what if LS enjoys analyzing basketball. Are you ganna call charles barkley a nerd because he analyzes basketball? Kenny the Jet Smith?
No, don't even go there. I'm on your side, Sanity |
OMG, why all this whining? It's embarrassing. Nobody wants to post about the next game, but wants to claim the game thread lol. Ridiculous. |
And your post is productive because...?
Yeah. That's irony for you. |
I don't know, I'm trying to figure out your post. |
Difference is that I'm not whining about what others have to say. I don't care. I'm just pointing out the irony in your hypocrisy.

Its really not about posting rate, its about posting quality. Why would the 1st response of a new thread have nothing to contribute to the thread title and then follow it up with 4 more posts that have nothing to do with the subject of the thread? |
Jeeez, whats the big deal? I find most of LS's posts to be very insightful, and he's not just trying to make his post count go up. This thread is one day too early. |
You could just see how he changed the whole dynamic of the thread. One day early, my bad. I didn't know talking about the Hornets loss past 2 days wasn't worn out yet. |
The situation would have died right away if you hadn't continued to whine about it. He apologized, yet you continued to play that victim role. Oh no, your thread got hijacked. Get over it. You started a thread more than 36 hours before a game, and some people thought that it was odd. Can't say I blame them, but honestly... who the hell cares? If you had dropped the subject, then the thread would have been on topic long ago. Of course, seeing as how the game isn't even close to being on yet, it isn't very surprising that no one wants to talk about it yet. _________________ Jeffs

Just kidding LS! You're one of my favorite posters! |
I consider LS as one of the better posters on the board.
I have wondered if he is really Jordan Farmar though???..or just his biggest fan? |

I think this thread needs to be retitled, "Lakers For Life and LakerSanity - Good or Evil?" as that is what the thread has devolved to. _________________ <-- My avatar is Margaret Nolan from one of the Carry On films. It's Friday... T-wolves v. Lakers tonight. No Kwame, but LO is back.
Jordan Farmar goes for 15 and 6
Andrew Bynum goes for 17 and 11
LO and Kobe have decent games, but play limited minutes

Any news on McCants status for the night? I believe he had an injured foot or something. I believe he is their 2nd leading scorer behind Al Jefferson.
*Maybe we should start doing an opponents preview thread as an update to their players status and what the Lakers keys to victory will be for that particular opponent???* |

T-Wolves are pretty much the worst team in the NBA.
I'm thinking the Lakers beat them by 20+ pts. |

Quote: | Guard Rashad McCants, who had gotten off to an impressive offensive start, is still slightly hobbled by the right ankle sprain. The good news: His ankle has responded much more quickly than he had hoped. The bad: McCants did not practice Thursday. McCants wouldn't rule out a return tonight, but Wittman was talking as if veteran Greg Buckner would get the start, and the job of trying to defend the Lakers' Kobe Bryant. |

^Probably not a good night to try and come back off of an ankle injury. Think his ankle hurts now, wait until Kobe is done with it. |

I sure hope we show up on defense. So far we have shown signs of being better. But......... In the end we are near the bottom on defense,at tied with "6th" worst on defense in the league....
Our scoring is 3rd just behind Utah and the Clips...
More aggressive on defense is the key.
LO goes for 10 and 6 in 24 minutes in his return...
Bynum goes for 13 and 9 in 26 minutes...
Kobe is forced to play even in the 4th due to this being only a semi blow-out. He scores 33 on 11 for 22 shooting with two 3's and 9 of 10 from the line... He gets 5 assists and 7 boards, in 39 minutes.

Do those suites have a waitress serving all game? What level 1st, 2nd or 3rd? I heard they go for $250 a seat. _________________ LAKERS ARE THE NBA CHAMPIONS |

Will be interested in watching how Jefferson is guarded tonight.
Who will take him? If you have Ratliff in there at C and Jefferson at PF, you're looking at Bynum guarding Ratliff and maybe Jefferson guarded by Ronny or LO.
But when Jefferson shifts to Center and they bring in someone like Gomes or Craig Smith at PF, does Andrew guard Jefferson? Last year Jefferson pushed AB around like it was nothin'. It'll be fun to see what AB can do with him now that AB is stronger. |

I say Kobe will play only 20 minutes, as Critt, Sasha, and Karl get most of the SG minutes.
It will be a blowout, but Phil will keep Lamar in to improve his conditioning.
Bynum and Critt will have big games. |

The Lakers have a history of not playing well against teams they are supposed to beat.
Minny has played tough - don't underestimate them. They've generally been in it until the start of the 4th quarter in each of their games so far. |

Not to get all "odacious" on you, but the Lakers have a big game against the Spurs coming up on Tuesday. If I don't see a game thread for that game by the end of the day, I'm gonna be mighty disappointed. _________________ "People don't think it be like it is, but it do." - Oscar Gamble

I really don't understand why everyone seems to be predicting a blowout.
The wolves play TOUGH. In their 3 losses so far, they have played it close, losing by 8 to the Nuggs in the opener, losing by 4 to the Knicks on the road, and losing by 8 to the Magic. And it's not like they closed the gap in garbage time - they were pretty much in each game until the 4th quarter.
I think we'll win, but I highly doubt we're looking at any 20 point romps. |

Zoinks!

Anyways, moving on. (No need to restart the fire).
Obviously we should beat the Wolves, this is a given. But what's equally obvious is the fact we played down to our opponents level last year and got beat by those pesky bottom-tiered teams. That can't happen if we are trying to be more than just lovable first round playoff fodder.
But that was last year, now we seem like a team who wants to put in the work and effort to succeed, and dare I say, play defense? Last year during our hot streak, we weren't winning games based on our defense, it was near perfect triangle execution. Although the triangle offense by design is supposed to help improve your teams defense, the pure focus on defense just wasn't there last year. This year we've shown more flashes, more focus, more effort on the defensive side of the ball. The defensive talent is lacking, true, but the effort is the one constant we need to even have a chance this year.
I'm curious to see how Lamar looks, and I think with Luke moving down to the bench, our second unit really might surprise even past this game.
We shall see.

It will be nice to see LO play. Get him going before we have those back to back Texas show downs. _________________ "This is Kobe's legacy, the Lakers," Jackson said.
