1 week left... FO just need to throw this out there and see what offers they can get.

Russ/2 protected first or swaps

Then take it and run...

I honestly think the Lakers can pull of OG/GTJ.

Russ/2 first rounders/2 second rounders/ Christie/ Lonnie

OG/GTJ/Boucher

They already said they wanted 2 seconds and a young player for GTJ

Russ/2 first unprotected for OG.

Boucher for salary purposes

The Lakers will probably wait as other teams have much better offers but in two years OG joins Davis and Bron. Now if klutch can orchestrate a force to LA in the next week, it will justify why management favors so many of their clients.

Jeanie is not paying 30m for Hayward

She paid nearly $100m for Russ. 🤷

Pretty obvious that even though the Lakers got a exciting win against the Pacers that they are still a piece or 2 away from being a threat in the WC, it’s gonna suck if the FO decides to let this team ride it out while letting AD and LeBron go all out only for them to lose in the play in tournament

Capspace is just facade to clear books

Salary Cap question:

If LAL did not trade Westbrook & let his $40+M salary expire, do we have the same cap space in the off season?

No, Rui Hachimura has an $18.8M cap hold. They could sign Rui to a new deal below that figure and replace the $18.8M hold or they could renounce him and let him walk for nothing (a Pelinka Special).

They also have Early Bird rights on Reeves. Whether they are willing to pony up for him is up to Jeanie.

More like he was giving a strong defensive effort to start the year and as time went on he regressed to the player he’s always been.

Yup.

Dude is a gunner without the ammo. If he's on your roster, it should be nothing more than bench 2 guard for 20 mins a game.

Takes two to tango - teams may not want to make a deal with us.

a piece or 2 doesn't matter as Ham will still use his dreaded 3 guard combination. The thing they should do is cut their guards, there is a log-jam in that position.

Trading 3 guards and getting 2 back, or trading 2 and getting 1 back would help. And Westbrook must be one of them, or we literally have no chance to compete as a team that can win a playoff series. Which has been the case since the moment we traded for him.

Lonnie is talented a lot of you guys have recency bias. He played super well in the beginning of the season. He hasnt looked good since coming back from his injury but I still feel like he will have a role to play on this team. He should be our starting 2 guard

I don't think he played super well in the beginning of the season, and none of the numbers bear it out.

Which stats are you referring to? He's pretty middle of the pack but if you would go off of what you guys are saying you would think he was bottom of the roster on all advanced stats. Don't think hes had a fair shake tbh

Is he a starting level 2 guard on a championship team?

It's actually less than that if you factor in Rui's $18m caphold... So it's only about $12-15m.

Here's a different idea, 3-teamer with the Pacers and Raptors. Indiana is rumored to be one of the "serious" OG suitors, and they have a lot of picks to play with. If Toronto could coax 3 protected FRP out of them, maybe they'd be willing to part with GTJ in the same deal for two "good" SRP, particularly if no one is willing to offer that FRP for him?

Lakers get: GTJ, Birch
Pacers get: OG, Walker, JTA
Raptors get: Hield, PatBev, Duarte, Damian Jones, 3 Indiana FRP (one of the 3 they have from '23, '25, and '27, all lotto protected), 2 Lakers SRP ('23 and '25)

This trade is close to salary neutral for the 3 teams, and Toronto stays under the luxury tax (again, this is a must when considering any trade for the Raptors). Lakers get a rumored target for 2 SRP plus Bev and Walker. We also take Birch's worse contract next year instead of Jones', but it helps the Raptors a little bit financially, and we need to give them incentive to do the deal without a FRP. Pacers get their major target, OG, and they hope their young backcourt of Haliburton and Mathurin, along with the re-signed Turner, can get moving in the East at least next season by adding OG on the wing. They give up Duarte here to sweeten the deal for Toronto, who will have other suitors presumably willing to give them 3 FRP for an in-demand wing. Walker is also a potentially helpful addition off the bench for some scoring punch for the rest of this year as Indiana tries to at least make the play-in. JTA is necessary to make all the money work; Toronto would be over the tax line if they took him instead, so the Pacers take him, and still save money in this anyway. Toronto gets a major draft haul for OG, the 3 protected FRP plus Duarte here. They also get Hield to replace GTJ for the rest of this year and next, which isn't terrible, and at the very least he would represent salary ballast in potential trades this summer or during next season. They also get PatBev out of this.

We'd still have Westbrook's $47MM and both FRP at our disposal to do another deal, should we think something was worth it.
