All defensive team for Trevelin Queen is impressive. He is not particularly athletic. 3.3 steals per game suggests he is a smart player. Free throw percentage also gives hope of better shooting from three.
Caruso also played for another G League team before finding his spot with the Lakers.

In 19 NBAGL games, Queen averaged 25.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and an eye-popping 3.3 steals in 35.0 minutes per contest, recording a shooting line of .480/.337/.796. It was his second season with the Vipers after going undrafted out of New Mexico State in 2020. |

He was impressive all season. I really wanted the Lakers give TQ another look after they cut him in camp. However Houston will probably keep him on a two-way and bring him in to their camp.
Quote: | When it comes to getting it done on both ends, I can’t think of another G League player who deserves a full time NBA rotation spot more than Queen. The 25-year-old was actually with the Lakers during training camp/preseason before getting waived, and I think it’s safe to say that LA made a huge mistake. Just imagine the problems Queen & Austin Reaves’ quick hands could have caused on defense to go along with their triple double ability on offense for the future. |

Former South Bay Laker Gary Payton II has a nice payday coming
Gary Payton II with the South Bay Lakers in 2020:
• 21.4 PPG
• 9.5 RPG
• 6.8 APG
• 57.3% FG
Quote: | Payton II has written one of the most epic underdog stories in the NBA despite being the namesake of one of the league’s biggest players of the 90s. And he’s continuing to play himself into a nice pay raise this offseason. |
Quote: | With the way Payton has played, he could eventually earn a nice payday like his former South Bay Lakers teammate Alex Caruso, who signed a four-year, $37 million deal with the Bulls last offseason. |

NO DOUBT!
This is a nice crop of young guys who all need seasoning.
The South Bay Lakers should be fun to watch with all this young talent. We'll see how they mesh together.
IMO Max (due to his contract$$), Swider (definitely) & Huff will see a little time w/ the Big Boys as the season progresses.
Got my fingers crossed for SPJ too. |

Jay Huff should be on South Bay and tbh should have gotten a spot on the Lakers and more of a chance in pre-season. Was more impressed with him than Damian Jones. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Huff will be back w/ South Bay if another team doesn't pick him up. He has potential and a decent 3 pt. shot.
I thought he played well in limited action. Also D-J needs to step up, he has been unremarkable so far. |
