The key to this win is (as usual) points in the paint.
If Bynum and Turiaf can score well and exploit their matchups, we have a good chance of winning this one.
Oh, having Kwame (instead of Turiaf and Cook (ugh)) guarding Amare may help also

everytime i watch a laker game i always wonder why we dont feed the post way more than what we do..we have a big team now with all these wc teams going small.... remember how well we did a couple years ago in the phx series (before we pissed our selves for actually thinking we had that upset in the bag) and we had luke kwame lamar and everyone else forcing our offense in the post...thats where success comes in this team

I enjoy the Suns when they play another team there actually fun to watch.

But man when they play the Lakers they have this arrogance, that makes me understand why a lot fans who are not Laker fans hate Kobe.

represent our city well...and when you get in the arena you either have to beat someone up or become someones b****...o wait..thats prison..nevermind. but you can go buy a raja bell jersey and clothes line everyone you walk past in the arena...and when they get up and say "hey what was that for!!??" then you can follow up by saying "oh im sorry its not my fault it must be the jersey"

i honestly think the lakers are goin to lose just because of how poorly the suns played last nite at the sonics

phx - 112
la --- 94

kobe will at best shoot 36% from the floor and score 25-30 points
the bright spot of tonites game will be bynum and radman each getting in double figures off the bench

another good game from d fish... 15 or so points

I'm just looking forward to see Kobe hopefully score a lot of points.

I hope Phil doesn't euthanize him and make him pass or play some initiator crap or whatever.

The only chance to stay close to Phoenix is if Kobe goes off and scores over 50.

Team ball crap won't work when there isn't a team.

Probably a blowout but it could at least be interesting if Kobe is unleashed.

Blow out in Phoenix favor. First home game. Always play well.

Unfortunately I think this is what we are in for. With Lamar out and how out of sync we looked in the first game I don't see us winning. I would usually give the Lakers a shot to come out fighting, but with our best player not 100% physically or mentally I don't see good things for the Lakers tonight.

The Suns are good, it wouldn't be the end of the world if we lost to them.

...watching them against the Sonics last night, I noticed they are still very weak defensively in the interior. Ronny and Bynum will be able to score if they are allowed to touch the ball offensively.

I love the optimism in this thread, BUT the Lakers dont have enough fire power to keep up with the Suns especially with no Lamar Odom.
Suns win this by 12

Phoenix doesn't look right. They needed their starters in the 4th just to beat a rookie led inexperienced team. I'm not impressed.

That said, this is their home opener so they should be fired up.

I read rumors of the Lakers fighting in practice. Saw the interview with PJ and he acknowledged it. That's a start, but let's see them fighting on the court v. the opposition.

This should be a good game. We got upgrades at 2 key positions: Fish and Ronny. Should be fun. I just wish LO was here to bust Grant Hill's old arse.

Go Lakers, but I think they will come up short tonight. Reverse Psychology!!

The Lakers don't have anyone with the post up moves of Chris Wilcox since Odom is out....and even if they did, Kobe wouldn't pass the ball to him.

Suns by 12.

Even Mihm can be useful, but this is a team Bynum should have success in the middle against. Also by giving Cook, Sasha, Coby Karl a DNP - CD or on the inactive list can be helpful. This is a game that Crittenton can be useful if he's not on the inactive list tonight.

Phoenix looked rusty tonight against the Sonics, maybe a back to back this early will be in our favor. Collison had a good game inside against Marion, we need to expoit Ronny and Kwame/Bynum/Mihm in the interior to pull this one out. Of course, we needed to do the same in the playoffs last season, and didn't.

... and the season before that. and every time we play the suns and any other team. FORCE FEED THE POST EARLY and OFTEN. we will win.

not the mid post, not the pinch post. the LOW POST.

I want walton backing his man down also. Bynum, Mihm, kwame, Ronny, Walton, Kobe, CRITT(activate him pjax, dont mess around).

who i dont want to see tonight.

COOK.... probably not evans either. I'm on the border with sasha. he actually plays good de on nash for some reason(probably because nash doesnt do well vs very long guys, thats why Lo seems like he can guard nash better then any of our normal size pg's.

I am sure the Suns are hoping for that too. Anything other than exploiting their mashed potato interior defense. They couldn't stop Nick Collison in the middle, for God's sake.
