People want MDA gone to satisfy Dwight or they want him gone because he's a terrible coach? I think I can safely say I fall in the 2nd category.
I wasn't on board with his hire and nothing he did last year changed my mind one bit. _________________

I'm glad they put it up... Dwight wants to feel wanted. As cheesy as it is, thaat billboard probably helps. And I don't care how stupid and pathetic it looks as long as it helps keep Dwight.... |

I like how you spin everything the Lakers management way, almost like you work for them! Come on Jim, admit it! |
Maybe I sound that way because I, like Laker management, I don't think like a knee jerk fan who has no responsibility for their every wild and inconsistent desire? |
To be fair, 24 is in the "Kick D12 to the curb" camp, so he's being as objective as he can. |
Nah, I'm fine keeping Dwight here. Unless of course he doesn't want to be here, then we all better get fine without him. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

That Billboard is horrible! When did the franchise become beggers. This is the Lakers not Cleveland. |

Quick, if you don't like what someone says make sure you dismiss it as a knee jerk reaction!! _________________

I'm not an attorney, but doesn't whomever put it up there have to get approval FROM the lakers for using their trademark logo and franchise name?
Otherwise it will look like they are speaking for them right?
If they did get their approval then either way it looks the same and smells of desperation. Which is pretty sad time for a proud franchise in my humble opinion. But I'm a little biased against Howard so my thoughts can be skewed. |

Looks like graffiti to me.
The inference is that it may have been unfurled by Staples Center management. |

I get that, but there's also a lot of people saying we have to fire MD to keep Dwight, which then of course means we have to hire a coach he wants, which of course means a coach who will build the offense around him in the post. _________________ “We must always take sides. Well, if that's the choice over losing him for nothing I'd do it. (assuming that's what Dwight wants)
However, I'm the guy that would only give Dwight until the trade deadline to prove he's full recovered and engaged with this team before trading him away. _________________

So when is it appropriate to call something a knee jerk reaction? When you agree with it? _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

Well, being embarrassed by a tacky banner I don't think falls under the knee jerk reaction category. More of a this doesn't fall under my taste category. _________________

Which again goes back to my point about you generalizing in your response. Your response stereotyped anyone who doesn't like this to a category of people you most remembered. Then you associated other attributes of the people you most remembered with the same people in this thread.
Just saying |

i don't see anything wrong with that. whoever came up with this is fully aware this is the kind of stuff that Dwight Howard loves, therefore they're simply catering to his personality. now let's say if they were to persuade a prime Kobe to resign, know Kobe's personality, they probably not gonna do the same thing. this is perfectly normal because Howard likes this kind of antics, and that's all it matters now. |

So now you're saying being a minority owner of a franchise gives you rights to make marketing decisions? _________________

None of us know what agreement AEG has with the Lakers. It isn't hard to imagine that they are able to use the Laker logo (and Clippers and Kings) in Staples Center advertisement. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
