LOL - their dinner reservations at Nobu aren't until 8:30.

I have no idea when/where they're dining.

He is making a decision once he gets back home. So we will know by Monday. I haven't been this excited about a Lakers signing since they tried to get Kawaii. Please let it happen. I am sick of these Mickey mouse coaches...give us a star coach a la Spo

But wouldn't that give UConn time to counter pitch him if he went home without an agreement?

They can't come close to the money, so it won't matter. Just up to him and his wife if they don't feel comfortable leaving/moving

So what’s the general feeling on this one? Lakers coach or UConn pay bump? I can’t get a read either way

Flashbacks of Lakersground posters stalking restaurants and following flight trackers during Kawhi’s free agency lol

If he's staying in UConn its not for the money.

No College Team can even come close to the type of money an NBA team like the Lakers are offering. Its basically up to him and his family now if they want to move out here from the east.

I think the only way this doesn’t happen is if his family doesn’t want to move out, they might feel more comfortable in a location they already know so I think the more this drags out the more it’s likely being in a comfortable environment will be the deciding factor

OFFER HIM 120 mil, I don't care. Get him signed and let's go. The money paid to him makes absolutely no impact on free agency or otherwise. The fans should not care what we are paying coaches, we should care about what coaches they hire. If they are willing to spend, let them, and let's get a real coach/staff. Same with assistants, gm, etc.

$119M is $17M a year for 7 years. That should be their current ceiling. But if a few million more makes it work, don’t walk away.

Some reports say Kentucky offered him $10M-$12M, if true, that could be the floor for UConn right now. There are also local news articles saying Hurley would preach loyalty to the players. I think the deal will take heavy persuasion. Just get it done, don’t F this up by playing who has the bigger package.

Typical LG - hate LeBron, then dog Jeanie for not paying LeBron's coach.

They’ve done it a lot. They have taken a hard stance against getting involved in bidding wars. The same thing happened with Caruso imo. Once Caruso turned down the Lakers offer, they refused to bid against Chicago, and didn’t even want Caruso to take a discount to come back because they didn’t want Caruso to feel like he did them a favor.

I see a lot of wealthy people negotiate like this actually. They approach a lot of purchases with a “could take it or leave it attitude”, but 1 out of every 10 purchases is something they really want and they decide nobody else will take it from them. Dan Hurley is that special purchase. I think they will get it done and send some shockwaves.

He wouldn't be flying out to LA if he didn't want the job. If his wife isn't willing to move it wouldn't have gone this far. She would have said no already.
