On the topic of Bobby Hurley..... He is more qualified for the job than JJ Redick

All candidates in the running are more qualified than JJ Redick. All have some coaching experience. JJ has none.

This is a good update but I am actually surprised there aren't more boots on the ground to report stuff. Also, is John Fanta even a reliable source????

He is for college

cool, good to know.

Let's hope the Lakers can seal the deal. The more I read about Dan Hurley, the more I am excited about him coming on board. Sure, he has to adjust to the NBA game but I think he can bring an energy and a system to this team at both ends that we really need. I thought Ham had little to no creativity and with Vogel, he was good on the defensive end, lacking on the offensive end. He was just lucky to have good offensive players.
Like to see players like Christie, Vando, Rui, Reaves thriving, even Hayes if he returns. These guys weren't always used right under Ham.
Looking forward to a change.

Hopefully, we have found our own Brad Stevens to slowly turn the franchise around. Hurley has a say in personnel decisions?

there is zero chance he would come here without having a say.

Exactly. He is not just coming here to coach. I assume he is going to have that Popovich, Kerr, Spoelstra type of authority on personnel moves. No doubt...

With the money they are talking, he probably will have a good bit of power built in. Probably would report right to Jeanie. Rob should be worried

Pelinka should be President

Jesse Buss should be our GM

Hurley should be our coach with some say in GM decisions

He will have a say.. he will not have the only say or the final say.

It would obviously be a collaboration of multiple voices.

No, Rob isn't worried. He has his job, but Dan will have his. In other words, Dan will have a say instead of what happened with Vogel with the Westbrook trade that he had no part of. That won't happen and rightfully so....

Where’s that high school kid who was scoping out all the hotels and restaurants burning the Dwight Howard watch?

If Hurley is hired, I think he'll significantly change the culture of the Lakers. We'll likely see a rise in homegrown players. Once LeBron leaves and retires, I feel the draft will take precedence over free agency. With Hurley's expertise in talent development, we'll probably hold onto our draft picks, trusting in his ability to cultivate players efficiently.

I'm completely on board with focusing on developing our own talent now.

This thread reminisces of that Kawhi summer. We need that LG legend who gave us minute by minute play
