Need to get this win. Arizona is bending over the Giants right now. |

The giants are now leading 9-8. Arizona blew a 7-0 lead. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

To be fair, the major re-opening happened after the NFL season ended. Also, I'm pretty sure the Canelo fight had 73,000 fans. |

Kenley was down, and Treinen was used as the closer (as I'm sure you saw) even though this was his 3rd straight day. I guess they wanted to stay away from Gonzalez as well. |

They clarified. It's the largest crowd in a U.S. professional sports league game since the start of the pandemic. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Dodgers DFA Nate Jones and call up outfielder Steven Souza from AAA, who had been tearing it up in 22 games there. Remember, Souza was once thought of as a very promising young major league outfielder, whose career was derailed by injuries. |

Interesting. Guess Souza earned his way into the 40 man roster. Does this mean that we can’t get him off the 40 man roster w/o DFA’ing him?
Usually the front office doesn’t like to do this. I don’t remember him being on the 40 man roster to begin the year.
Ok, nvm, Souza is 32 now. |

This lineup we have is downright horrific against Wheeler. Hope I’m wrong. |

These injuries are brutal but resting Turner when he’s the only one who has had success against Wheeler made no sense. We have a minor league lineup out there. Beaty cleanup? Pollock at 5? Goodluck scoring any runs. |

I thought Jones was serviceable. What did you think of him? Also, when a player is DFA'd, does that mean we lose our rights to him? Or could he worm his way back onto the roster if we needed relief pitching later. |

If no one claims him then he has a choice to accept our offer of playing in the minors.
If he declines that, then I’m not sure.
Quote: | Designate for Assignment (DFA)
When a player's contract is designated for assignment -- often abbreviated "DFA" -- that player is immediately removed from his club's 40-man roster. Within seven days of the transaction (had been 10 days under the 2012-16 Collective Bargaining Agreement), the player can either be traded or placed on irrevocable outright waivers.
If the player is claimed off said waivers by another club, he is immediately added to that team's 40-man roster, at which point he can be optioned to the Minor Leagues (if he has Minor League options remaining) or assigned to his new team's 26-man roster (it was 25, prior to 2020).
If the player clears waivers, he may be sent outright to the Minor Leagues or released.
Players with more than three years of Major League service time or who have been previously outrighted may reject the outright assignment in favor of free agency.

Correct, if he clears waivers, he has the choice of staying in our organization and going to the minors, or he can choose free agency. (I would assume he has 3 years of MLB service.) |

Lost in everything is the fact that the Giants actually had the 3rd easiest schedule so far in the entire league. We are 13th in (most difficult) strength of schedule, they are ranked 28th. Eventually, this will catch up with them. |

Agreed. They are a big-time implosion waiting to happen. |
