Yup. Porzingis without giving up a FRP is also absurd.

Teams have always been charitable to Boston. Nothing new.

Lakers would have rolled them easy like I expected. They wouldn't be able to deal with AD. It should have been the Lakers beating OKC, Mavs and Wolves and facing Foston rn.

Been saying that for a while. The Celtics laid the template, draft and develop. The Lakers have been in a win now mode for a while. It's not working. Patience is key.

(bleep) DLo hit those clutch buckets to beat NO, then put up stinker after stinker against Denver. We could’ve won this title.

DLo is like a curse. He's a big reason why we couldn't beat Denver. If we were tanking, we could have sat him against the Pels.

Bob Myers said he deserved the FMVP but I think Tatum will get it based on his assist numbers and gravity. 03-04 Pistons vibes. No clear cut best player, just 5-7 dudes who play 2-way ball and give it their all.

It started with Danny Ainge.

The hated Celtics are miles ahead of us. I blame Jeanie. I hope she sees the handwriting on the wall and gets help. I have a gut-sucking feeling the Mavericks are going to go fishing tonight.

Specifically, I blame it on Magic.

I've been saying this for years. Magic went for the hype and selected Lonzo at #2, while letting the Celtics select Tatum a pick later.

Magic is a major contributor to this Celtics team.

How about selecting BI over JB? Who do you blame for that? I don't care what the pundits say, I think JB is a better all-around player.

BI vs JB is not as painful as Lonzo vs Tatum, far from it.

Lonzo has a Win Share of 11.4, Tatum 55.9, WS/48: .067 vs .153.

BI vs JB, it's only 27.2 vs 35.3, WS/48: .083 vs .104.

Had the Lakers drafted both JB and Tatum, they would have been lost in the AD trade anyway.

Those numbers are impressive but they don't answer my question. If we had drafted JB and Tatum we would have a young core to build on as do the Celtics. The Lakers get superstars and win now formula has proven to be the wrong way to go. How many times have you lamented for AD not being unavailable?

If your question is "how about JB vs BI?", I've already answered it.
It's not as painful as Lonzo over Tatum, so I wouldn't mind drafting BI over JB at all. Yes, JB is better, but not by that big a margin.

If we had drafted JB and Tatum, we might still have signed LeBron in 2018. By the off-season of 2019, we might still have traded Tatum and JB for AD. With Lebron, the "win now" philosophy is always applicable, as we wouldn't have the patience to wait for 5 years for JB and Tatum to blossom.

The Magic mistake is NOT that the Lakers do not have Tatum, but that the Celtics have Tatum. Notice the difference?

I wouldn't mind a bit if the Pelicans become the next dynasty with Tatum. As long as it's not the Celtics...

I didn't ask about pain, I asked who you blamed for picking BI over JB. JB turned out to be a better and more available player. Picks are basically crap shoots. I don't see a scenario that would net us both JB and JT. If we had both players with Bron, Prince, Rui, and Vanderbilt would we need AD?

If the Mavs win tonight it's gonna be a series. If Tyrie can block out the Celtics crowd they have a good chance. Luka got the message and stopped arguing with the refs and played defense. If he keeps playing good D and shooting well the Mavs have a chance to take it back to Dallas. Lively is the X factor.

I already answered it. The gap isn't that big. Why should I blame anyone?

If you think the gap is so big that you need someone to blame, that's YOUR SUBJECTIVE OPINION!!! You can't force me to agree with you, thus find someone to blame.

And yes, with BRON, I would prefer AD over Tatum/Brown. At least it landed a chip for us 4 years ago.

Why do you think they went after Hurley? Brad Stevens was ex-college coach. Hurley is also a college coach. Jeanie had the right idea. Unfortunately, she didn't think a guy potentially like Brad Stevens isn't worth more than $70M.

SAS weren't trying to win at the time so I'll give them that pass. MIL trading away Holiday was just plain stupid. An unselfish-winning-2-way player at the PG spot is hard to come by. I blame this on Giannis....that and firing Budz. Freak just needs to play and stop trying to be LeGM.

I’m in the same place, on the same day (June 17th), that the Celtics beat us in game 6 of the 2008 finals sixteen years ago.

Bucks legitimately broke up a contender and now they have horrid perimeter defense. Everything gets funneled to Giannis or Lopez. Worse, Giannis blew out his calf defending everyone. Just another casualty of the trade.

I watched Derrick White a bit on league pass when he was on SAS. He was always a baller and clutch too.

Brad Stevens actually came on the cheap. I think he got around $3.75M average per year. But he wasn’t a back to back champion. He was an overachiever at a small school.

Brad Stevens also needed 10 years and 2 disciples, one who slept with an executives wife, before he brought a title to the C’s. Do the Lakers have 10 years and a scandals worth of patience?
