To be fair we needed an AD fadeaway 3 to win a game against them during bubble iirc. In the words of shaq. Only lucky shot deserves another

lol AD went straight up and down off a catch and shoot... that wasn't a circus shot like so many made in last year's series. Either way it's not why Denver beat us, but it was annoying.

Much healthier LeBron and hopefully recovered AD. Swaggy DLo. Gabe hitting his stride. A more confident Hachimura that has a real defensive role against the Nuggets. Murray looking shaky. No Bruce Brown.

The bad news is Denver is still really hard to play at, they still have the best player in the world, and still have at least 1 more two-way-playable starter than us. And they're better coached and one of the only teams that are more physical.

I think the Nuggets repeat. I'll be rooting for us to beat them.

Never did I ever think I would hear comments like this on Laker Ground. You act like we are facing Bulls 91 or Shaq Kobe 99. We are not.

Lakers are better than last year and Nuggets, while still the stronger team, are weaker than last year.

they swept us but the context does matter because we did not lose games by large margins. Lakers gassed out and key players (DLo) played poorly. I expect to win games this series. maybe a couple lucky bounces our way this time and we might knock them out.

maybe the one thing going for us is that it's the first round. LeBron and AD are not worn down as opposed to last year

I have faith in the Ham stuck here forever tour.

Jontay Porter just got banned for life.

Maybe that distracts his brother for a few games.

I think this series will be more competitive than what analyst might think, with us having a chance to advance. What the nugget have last year's playoff is the disrespect they got from the media and how much coverage the Lakers got more than them. No pressure on the Nuggets and they have that extra drive to prove to the world 'why are you talking about the Lakers' when we 'the Nuggets' has the best record last year in the WC. This year I feel it is the opposite, the league and media knows how good they are and their are actual pressure on them to actually win and repeat as champion unlike last year pressure free, IMO. All the media is not giving any chance to the Lakers this year. So, this year we have that extra boost motivationally to prove everyone wrong, shut the coach yapping and less pressure on the lakers advancing. I think we win this series Lakers in 7.

Unlike almost everyone, I thought we were as good as the Nuggets last year.

DLo and Schroder both went cold.

If AR and DLo go cold this year, then yes we will be out in four or five games.

But if they are hot, I think we can win.

Jokic is the best player now that LBJ is 39 but I think our team has equal talent.

I just want a good effort.

If not, the bright side is probably no more Ham.

Small ball 3 guard lineups with Prince at the 4, no more of that against the Nuggets, please Darvin.

They need to take a page out of the book from Danny Hurley of UConn when they matched up against Purdue in the finals.

He let Edey get his and shut down all the perimeter guys.

That is exactly what the Lakers should do vs. Denver, Jokic is going to get his but the guy that has been killing us is Murray. Have to slow him down to have any chance of winning the series, do not help off of him.

Without Vando, we can't really guard Murray.

Small guards like Fox are our kryptonite. Even Alvarado almost killed us.

Our only hope is we outshoot them. And I think we can.

ETA: Maybe Vincent can do something, in which case that would be a gamechanger... I forgot about him because he was gone so long.

Anyone watch a lot of Denver this season? What is their sun pattern for Jamal Murray? Does he play 6 minutes before rest or the whole 1st Q? I would like to get Gabe in there on him as much as possible for the 15 or 20 minutes Gabe is going to play a game.

They have gotten every bounce it seems like the last 10 games or so we have played him.

Hopefully we get a couple of those bounces this round

Key in this series will be AD not getting embarrassed by Jokic constantly and him stepping up to a high level, DLO has to give us offense and that swagger attitude that makes him want to destroy opponents, we all know LeBron will do his part

It was a sweep, but all games could’ve gone either way

Zion’s injury ruined our season. He would have destroyed us in the last 3 minutes and we would be playing OKC
That was actually a very bad break for the Lakers imo. Our FO is very dumb they needed "luck" in order to win a championship. They made a bad decision by trying to beat the Pelicans but got unlucky that they actually won. Yes, Lakers were very unfortunate that Zion got hurt and Pelicans lost.
since the path to a ring is through Denver, wouldn’t it be better when the Lakers are fresh and there are more days between games in this round?

Pels didn’t play BI at the end of the game

Maybe Zion got injured because he was playing extra hard against LBJ. If LBJ played his normal game, Lakers win

AD had a subpar game (for AD) and Lakers still won

I should have interpreted more clearer in my post what I mean is that if Jokic is having his way we need AD to bring the same mentality, look at the highlights from last year AD just wasn’t doing enough to help when it counted

Don’t be so arrogant, you are the first always point out how big and bulky bigs always have there way and I think AD bringing a new mentality in this series will help us
