I used to be a big fan, but all the latest news has made me dig deeper. Looks like he is in big trouble. Tesla is on the brink of bankruptcy and committed fraud.
Pretty amazing he’s about to go broke. Be aware. |

It seems from afar like maybe he is having some kind of personal meltdown.
There have been rumors/accusations that is doing hard drugs and stuff recently for instance.
Not good for a CEO of a company like that. I have always admired his vision, but certainly this would seem to be a challenging time for him. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Elon Musk is the most consequential entrepreneur since Henry Ford.
Anyone who believes the anti-Tesla dumbasses at the NY Times and CNBC is naive at best.
Elon is not in trouble. With the SEC or anyone else.
There is a difference between stating "funding secured" and "funding committed." Anyone who does not know the difference should not be commenting on corporate finance.
Tesla is turning profitable as we speak. Tesla will be GAAP profitable in Q3 of this year, in Q4 and henceforth barring a major recession or full on global trade war.
SpaceX has been quite profitable for some time. SpaceX has 2/3 of the global launch business because SpaceX is the low cost launch leader.
If you truly believe bankruptcy is imminent for Elon/Tesla, because if one is so is the other, than take out a 2nd mortgage and short TSLA. Take a loan against your kids college fund and short TSLA. Ditto your retirement account.
I will be glad to take your money and buy more Tesla products. I could use a Tesla solar roof and powerwall.
BTW Regarding Pedo Guy: Why does a single white UK expat decide to live in Thailand?. And not in Bangkok or on the beach? But chooses to live in city notorious for child sex trafficking in a country notorious for the sex trade? HMMM? |

A visionary -- SpaceX, Mars Colony, Tesla, Solar Roof, Boring Co, Hyperloop, Dodgers "Dugout Loop" who's having issues reaching escape velocity from reality. Hope he's able to find a way to overcome. Couldn't wait for them to start on that Hyperloop test tunnel in West LA (Pico/Sepulveda to Washington), but he's got other things to deal with now. |

I’m a huge fan, investor (not a huge one, but a decent small chunk of my portfolio), and soon to be owner (several family members own Tesla’s and rave about them, my 3 is coming in September). Not regretting any of it so far. |

Seems like an unnecessarily strong of a response, but good to see the passion.
For me, Tesla, and Elon Musk, are changing the way companies and people see the future of automobiles. Companies have long worked towards full electric cars, self-driving cars, etc. but Tesla has been the first to build one that everybody wants, close to an affordable range (though obviously not there yet), and most importantly from a fairly limited manufacturing network. Needless to say, if the manage their finances well, they should and can scale this to be a major player in the industry selling cars at similar volumes to the big boys in the group and fully disrupt the industry (which they've already done even at a small scale).
But, for all the good Musk has done, he's also why everybody often gets concerned with Tesla. He is obviously volatile (that much we should be able to agree upon), and his marketing hyperbole causes people to start doubting his experience and leadership. His controlling and extremely demanding ways could be good (see Steve Jobs and Apple) or bad (see Travis Kalanick and Uber - I think that's the one), and really it's going to be up to him to prove critics wrong, over and over, because similar to Lavar Ball, he's set himself up for positive and negative attention. The negative attention has mostly come at the way he manages finances (based on his operation of SolarCity and its finances), funding and his team (or lack thereof, since he has no real "right hand man"). All of those characteristics rightfully come into question when he's proactively trying to take his company private (and secure additional funding) without any shareholder and/or board discussion, doing so all in the public eye and all while data points to financial troubles that linger ahead.
Does that mean he'll fail? No. But, it's right for people to raise obvious questions around his leadership. Definitely don't think just because somebody's against a company's leadership, they need to put money on the table just to prove they're "right." |

now here's the truth. the diver should be thanked for saving those kids. But, anytime I see foreigners in these areas of thailand i automatically think "sex tourism" all the way to messing with the kids because we know this is where people go to more or less get away with that kind of behavior. does that mean this the diver? NO. but i would go out on a limb and say its a 50/50 chance that elon is right about this guy. people dont want to believe it because he did a good deed. Folks forget, the catholic church was molesting boys and girls left and right. yet they still did a lot for a lot of communities/countries in general around the world. a right does not wipe out a wrong.
So i guess we'll have to see when the guy sues him officially. I hope for the guys sake that he isnt a kiddy rapist. Because if he is, all of his skeletons are about to come out of the closet.
look at it like this. This guy going there is like some guy going to vegas and elon calling that guy out and saying "he gambled there." now he could've gone to some shows, he could've hit some clubs up, he could've done a host of things. but there's a 50% chance he did actually at minimum pull a slot lever or two while there for the weekend. thats where people go to do that kind of stuff. |

and just in case you think i just made it up for some reason. there's a reason i feel that way.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourism_in_Thailand
Notice it says Tourism. So why is there an entire section dedicated to Sex Tourism? because its one of the things they are known for.
Quote: | Sex tourism
Of the 26.74 million visitors recorded by TAT in 2013, 11.23 million were men suspected by NGOs to have come to Thailand explicitly to engage in prostitution.[51] Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, named Thailand's third female tourism minister in 2014, has pledged to eradicate Thailand's sex industry. "We want Thailand to be about quality tourism. We want the sex industry gone," Ms Kobkarn told Reuters. "Tourists don't come to Thailand for [sex]. They come here for our beautiful culture." She has named Pattaya, with its thousands of bars, brothels, and massage parlours, her "pilot project" in the cleanup campaign.[52] Kobkarn was replaced as tourism minister in November 2017.[53]
On 21 February 2017, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha announced that he will order the police to dismantle Pattaya's sex industry. "I don't support prostitution", said Prayut.[54]
Sex tourism is niche market in Thailand that many tourist visiting Thailand attempt to utilize. There are 30,000 estimated sex workers in Thailand. Because the sex market trades with foreigners, the spread of HIV is big concern for the Thai government. |
Doesnt that number on top sound closer to 50/50?
https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/top-five-countries-highest-rates-child-prostitution-1435448
Quote: | Thailand
Child prostitution in Thailand involved 800,000 children under the age of sixteen in 2004.
According to Ecpat, due to the hidden nature of child sexual abuse reliable figures are hard to compile and cases difficult to document. Available figures estimate that currently some 30,000 to 40,000 children, not including foreign children, are exploited as prostitutes.
Sexual exploitation of children in Thailand, as in many other countries, is tremendously influenced by tourism.
"In Pattaya [ Thailand], if there were fewer foreign people coming in to buy sex, then the problem would be easier to manage," Palissorn Noja, who runs Pattaya's Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Centre, told the Huffington Post.
"They [pedophiles] have an entire worldwide network of people looking for children through human trafficking. And sex tourism makes it harder to stop."
The photographic documentary, "Underage" by photographer Ohm Phanphiroj shows the life of thousands of underage male prostitutes in Thailand.
"The film aims at exposing the rotten problem about sexual exploitation against minors and mistreatment towards children," the photographer said in a statement. |
^notice the US is on that list too. but they are measuring by total numbers. if you do the simple math, you would know the US population is much larger than Thailands. So for Thailand to be on this top 5 list should tell you all you need to know. |

Suggestions to get a “co” ceo or push Elon to another C-position seem doomed to fail. I imagine he would both privately and publicly undermine such a person at every turn: who could control such a man child? |

a lot of these guys are crazy just like elon. the difference is, he's his own best marketing team for his companies. For all the boosts you get with him running around doing interviews and tweeting things that give his products a nice hill. He will do the very same that will give his products a valley.
It's like having a Jack N Box commercial that comes on that has you wanting to go to jack n box to get that new sandwich. then a minute later another Jack commercial comes on and it shows jack throwing up the burger he just ate.
The truth is, he's not a fraud. He's actually the real deal. Now is he some great business person? Not really. He's learning on the fly in front of all of us while making tons of mistakes that are usually made behind the scenes.
And to me I have never looked at him as a guy that is a great business mind. I need him around to push the envelope with all of his companies. I dont care if they are profitable or not. I need him to make the big boys sweat, while also helping push ideas onto the youth that comes up behind him with business ideas regarding reusable energy/rockets, etc. This is the only reason I try to look the other way when he starts to act like a brat. |
