That 3 baskets in a row in the first half was fun.
Interestingly he's not taking as many 3s as I thought he would.

He played way to little in the game considering the difference he made in the minutes he got, if we are gonna try our hardest to prevent AD from being injured, Bryant is the perfect realistic big to do that, but Ham decided to ride it out with AD which caused him to hurt his hand.

TB is a nice backup center to have. However, he does not protect the rim at all and he let a bunch of guys just get by him to the rim. I like his rim running and easy buckets from it. Still haven't seen him stretch the floor much.

So looking closely at TB. Offensively he’s very good actually.

Defensively, I can see why Ham isn’t too keen on giving him many minutes. He gets beat a lot by smaller players, and doesn’t protect the rim as much as he should. I don’t know if it’s dude to lack of mobility, or just not being at the right places at the right time.

I hope they can work him more in that area, because I still believe he has a lot of potential to succeed here. Offensively, he provides a lot of benefits of stretching the floor, nice soft touch around the rim, and cuts very well to the basket.

He should play more minutes with AD to lessen his defensive responsibilities. He hasn't stretched the floor much but his mid-range jumper was money last night. He's another player that would benefit from a Myles Turner trade, he could play a similar role as Bobby Portis.

*Thomas Bryant & Russell Westbrook Speak to Chemistry

Quote:
Bryant has averaged 11.5 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 81.8% from the field.

Most of his points have come on easy layups and dunks with his teammates setting him up. Russell Westbrook has played a huge part in that as he and Bryant have picked up where they left off when they played on the Washington Wizards together in 2020-21.

*The Metamorphosis of a Big Man: A full-circle moment with Thomas Bryant
Quote:
He’s an emotional player, always has been, and that’s a powerful component to a team. That energy is infectious, it makes each guy want to work a little harder.

Thomas explained, “One thing, “I wanna’ bring is the intensity and passion that I have for the game of basketball. You know? And translate that to a great, infectious energy for all of us.”

Thomas Bryant missed nearly the first full month of games and has immediately made an impact.

For a big Thomas has jets, and he's pretty under control too. Like the Spurs commentator said, "Thomas Bryant is not a stiff"

I'd much rather see more of Bryant (and Gabriel) than the 3 and 4 guard line-ups.

He's been relegated to Robert Sacre status.

Couldn't hang with Lopez. No advantage in Size, Speed or Talent. Gabriel at least had Speed.

Just a bad matchup.

What we're seeing is that TB has very limited use if he's not a 3-point threat. Feels like he's just abandoned it.

Yea, Ham was right to limit his minutes this game.

Perhaps that could be some of it, but I think there may be more. Lopez played 32 minutes, yet Bryant only played 4. Surely from the 16 minutes when Lopez was out Ham could have found more than 4 minutes for Bryant. Also, AD played 40 minutes...but perhaps maybe we needed all those minutes from AD to win though since he was ballin. Still, 4 minutes for Bryant in this game plus the DNP or low minutes in other games seems low for what we see Bryant do on the floor when he is on the court.

Crap. We'll be without Gabriel tonight and we need size against the Cavs. Maybe not as much if Allen is also out. But we need Thomas to be a plus tonight.
