Schroeder was playing awkward against Minnesota, I never seen him tentative, the finger was basically bothering him and he found out after the game.

No need to be dramatic, at most this is probably gonna be a few weeks time line or a month at most.

Dennis was pretty rough in his debut, with the glut of guards we should be fine if say he has to miss a few weeks.

To Dennis's defense, he really hadn't had any preseason time with the team. He was stuck in Germany on a visa issue. Finally got it cleared, showed up at practice and then played only 9 minutes. Also, it sounds like he also injured his finger during that 9 mins.

So, if you watched him play over the summer, he was great.

He injured his finger on one of the first plays after he entered the game. You could see him holding/tugging his finger after just a few possessions.

That’s thumbb! 👎🏼 <💯

Such dumb luck, but we already know what it is. #FansNumbb🥱💯

So he will be out the first month of the season... with all our guards its not really a big deal... Rest might be a good thing with all the basketball he played over the summer.

THT had similar ligament surgery. He was back 3rd week in Nov.

This injury sidelining him for a month or so is a way to manage the glut of guards.

Sad reality is by the time he is ready to play there is likely to be another guard injured and out for him to replace in the lineup.

To clarify, he’s going to be reevaluated at 3-4 weeks, but he ain’t going to see game time till a bit later.

Before, the prognosis on the average Joe wound have been 3-4 months. Athletes could get back quicker depending on the rehab resources they have, but it would typically take 12-15 weeks.

Now with an augmented brace rather than being fitted for a cast, recovery time has been cut nearly in half.

Re: Dennis Schröder: UCL sprains are relatively common in the NBA. Players to sustain the injury include Chris Paul, Marcus Smart, and Bam Adebayo. The average number of missed games following an in-season UCL repair in the NBA is 23.8 games (~ 7.5 weeks).

Dude got an UCL repair, so the rupture/tear was significant to where he needed surgical intervention. I’m thinking he probably gets back mid Dec.

Given our retrospect for the last decade or so, this is easier to predict than the sun coming up tomorrow morning

Is there a timetable on his recovery?

I know there is mixed reviews on Schro, but I suspect his signing was meant to be insurance should Ham not be able to blend Russ into the lineup.

I have no doubt that Schro would be a massive upgrade on Russ, and a combo of him and Bev, or him and Nunn, would be a much better backcourt and fit with Bron and AD.

Hopefully he's back soon.

Schroder looks good at Eurobasket. I believe he will be better that what most people expect of him and we got him at bargain price too. I was not particularly thrilled with his diva attitude the first time around but that humility most likely gave him a better dose of reality.

I'll be happy if we get the same Schro from 20-21 season.

We sure could use DS right now. Unfortunately Schro probably won't be back until late Nov. or Dec.
That's too bad because our guard play, overall, has been anemic.

we need him, DS and Walker can be that 3rd guy who can get buckets by themselves when we need it (sans WB momentum changing TO)
