Greg McMichael, 67, Travis McMichael, 35, William "Roddie" Bryan, 52

I wish them long lives of misery behind bars.

Good. Hopefully justice prevails and he is actually tried and convicted.
Grand Rapids officer charged with second-degree murder in shooting of Patrick Lyoya, prosecutor says

A Grand Rapids Police police officer was charged Thursday with one count of second-degree murder in the death of Patrick Lyoya, who was shot in the back of the head during a struggle after an April traffic stop, a Michigan prosecutor said.

Lyoya, a Black man, was shot to death on April 4 by officer Christopher Schurr, a White officer trying to arrest him after a traffic stop in a case that has drawn national attention. Lyoya's final moments were captured in multiple videos later released to the public.
"This is not a message. This is just based on the facts and making a decision in this case," Kent County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher Becker told reporters Thursday, referring to the charge.

(Discovery of unserved warrant renews family's call for justice for Emmett Till)

Quote:
The family of Emmett Till is calling for justice. Nearly 70 years ago, the Black 14-year-old's murder helped spur the civil rights movement in America. His family recently discovered an unserved arrest warrant for his accuser, who is still alive today. They hope it can lead to her arrest. CNN's Sara Sidner has more.

Quote:
Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has been sentenced to 21 years in a federal prison for violating George Floyd's civil rights. Chauvin, who pleaded guilty in December, will also be required to pay restitution.

During the sentencing, U.S. District Judge Paul Magnuson said that Chauvin "must be held responsible" for his actions, including destroying the lives of the other three officers involved in Floyd's death.

"I really don't know why you did what you did," the judge said. "To put your knee on a person's neck until they expired is simply wrong. … Your conduct is wrong and it is offensive."

Chauvin's plea deal, which Magnuson accepted in May, called for a sentence of 20 to 25 years. Magnuson shaved seven months off of the 21-year sentence for time already served —
last year, Chauvin was convicted in a state court on murder and manslaughter charges related to Floyd's May 2020 death and sentenced to 22 1/2 years. He will serve the state and federal sentences concurrently in a federal prison.

Chauvin could be out in 15 years. I wish the sentences had to be served consecutively. He will serve the state and federal sentences concurrently in federal prison.

Where is the truth? Mother of Twins who suffered from Schizophrenia gets arrested at her home and she dies enroute to the police station by falling out of the cruiser/they murder her? Criminally Negligent Homicide?

Are these police cruisers from the early 70's? Nothing to tell them the back door is OPEN?

Georgia police didn't close patrol car door before handcuffed woman fell out and later died, investigators say

Quote:
Deputies in Georgia never closed a patrol car door after putting a 28-year-old handcuffed woman in the back seat during an arrest earlier this month, authorities said Wednesday. That woman, Brianna Marie Grier, fell out of the car while it was moving and died days later from her injuries, according to police.

Grier was arrested at a home in Sparta, Georgia, on July 15, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) said last week. She was put into the patrol car and was being driven to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office when she fell out of the patrol car and suffered "significant injuries," the GBI said at the time.

She died of those injuries six days later, the GBI said. It's unclear why she was initially taken into custody.

Quote:
Grier’s parents called police, saying that their daughter was having a schizophrenic crisis. They wanted paramedics to come assist her, as they had done previously. However, when sheriff’s deputies went to their home they claimed Grier had alcohol on her breath.

She said that she had been drinking and was put in handcuffs, escorted into a patrol car and detained for intoxication, her father Marvin Grier said. Grier soon died in police custody. She leaves behind a set of 3-year-old twin girls.

Her father wants answers. “We need to know what happened to our daughter,” he told The Washington Post Friday. “If we had known it was going to end up this way, we would have let her stay here.”

On the morning of July 15, police told Grier’s mother that her daughter had allegedly “kicked the back door in and jumped out” of the patrol car. Grier’s father said police told them she had suffered a head injury and had been taken to the hospital. However, this just doesn’t add up.

“Everybody knows that no one can just kick a door open on a police cruiser. I never heard nobody else say it had happened,” Grier’s father said to The Washington Post. “And with her hands behind her back? Something’s not right here.”

What's troubling to me is so many of these occurances seem to happen to Black people.

Four current, former Louisville police officers federally charged in Breonna Taylor's death

Four current and former Louisville police officers involved in the deadly raid on Breonna Taylor's home -- including detectives who worked on the search warrant and the ex-officer accused of firing blindly into her home -- have been charged with civil rights violations and other counts, Attorney General Merrick Garland said Thursday.

The charges mark the first federal counts leveled against any of the officers involved in the botched raid. In addition to civil rights offenses, federal authorities charged the four with unlawful conspiracies, unconstitutional use of force and obstruction, Garland said.

No idea what to even say... The Two officers should now be tried for his death in some legalspeak. I sincerely would be interested to kkknow their political affiliation

So, I tracked down 4 articles deep why this bodycam footage was retrieved 2 years later...
Fox local News...SO UH some props to them is owed..

Too many pieces to bold in the article below - inhumane cruelty.. how did our police forces become this way and how can it change?

Quote:
Almost two years later, when he saw bodycam footage of two WHITE [sic] police officers standing around doing nothing for almost eight minutes as the Black man bled out inside an elevator, he learned the devastating truth about his son’s final moments.

“To see my son begging for help, to see that he could still move, that he could still talk…” Mr Outlaw said, choking back tears.

In the harrowing footage, first obtained by Fox13 reporters who tracked down Mr Outlaw and showed him the video, Ryan is seen lying on the elevator floor, conscious, groaning in pain and saying that he can’t breathe as a pool of blood forms beneath his body.

Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) Officers Ian Anderson and Jaddah Brown are seen standing by as crucial minutes to save Ryan’s life tick by.

They fail to administer any first aid and instead just wait for paramedics to arrive on the scene.

At one point, Officer Anderson is seen ordering a barely conscious and heavily bleeding Ryan to crawl out of the elevator.

He is then heard saying “what do you want me to do? Medical is coming,” when Ryan’s killer begs the officers to try to save her boyfriend’s life.

At no point do either of the officers provide medical care or even touch the 39-year-old as he lies dying on the ground.

The original call was from a neighbor, and it took the cops 27 minutes to arrive initially. Paramedics arrived 8 minutes later.

Seems as though he was bleeding internally, and died 90 minutes after paramedics arrived. I'm no doctor, but stopping internal bleeding around vital organs probably requires more than "hours" of general and basic medical training. Unlike with a mostly superficial wound, applying pressure when there is internal bleeding can do serious harm.

It is also possible that the girlfriend did not call 911 in a timely manner, which also could have saved his life.

Black man left paralyzed after Texas police allegedly slam him on to concrete - (and left with no help for 20 hours in his jail cell... Third world (bleep) hole state)
Thu 18 Aug 2022 07.00 EDT
Quote:
Speaking to KBMT last September, the Beaumont police chief, James Singletary, said that although he felt “very badly about the gentleman that got injured”, Gillen was “just doing his job”.

Quote:
“Before entering the facility, Mr Shaw slightly turned his body. Defendant Gillen responded by attempting to slam Mr Shaw to the concrete platform at the rear entrance of the facility,” the lawsuit said.

He landed on his head and fractured his spine in multiple places, the lawsuit alleges. Shaw asked for help from jail staff and employees of the jail’s medical contractor CorrHealth but they refused to help him, according to the lawsuit. When Shaw asked one nurse for assistance, she allegedly told him, “I won’t help you until you help yourself.”

The lawsuit added that Shaw was left alone in his jail cell for approximately 20 hours before someone attended to him medically. While he was left alone in his cell, he “defecated and urinated on himself multiple times due to his inability to control his bowels and kidney function”, the lawsuit said. Only later was an ambulance called for him and he was taken to the hospital again where he underwent various emergency surgeries.

Black influences are so fundamental to American music that there would be NO American Music without us!!!! Sometimes it's the only way people can see us, and most certainly hear us.

Long before Rap and Hip-hop dominated the music culture, Black Music had a profound influence on the culture of the United States and the world. Going back to the 20th century, Black Music has been the heartbeat of America and been emulated around the world. The impact of Black Music on America and the world has been so fundamental that there would be no American music without us. Every genre that is born from America has black roots!!!

You’re right, but this should be the norm (quick to take action).

Based on the press conference this morning, the video is going to be really, really bad.

Rodney King anyone? Do any think these officers will get the same treatment as Laurence Powell, Theodore Briseno, and Timothy Wind the White officers who brutally beat King?

Absolutely. Unfortunately that is not the case 99.999% of the time when it is white officers involved.

TYRE NICHOLS
5 COPS CHARGED WITH 2ND-DEGREE MURDER
... After Fatal Beating

You’re right, but this should be the norm (quick to take action).

Based on the press conference this morning, the video is going to be really, really bad.

Absolutely. Unfortunately that is not the case 99.999% of the time when it is white officers involved.

You're 100% right and in the future when there are delays in charging white officers, there should be reference back to this case and a public demand for immediate accountability.

So they only released the video from ONE bodycam? And it was the one from the officer who kept walking away from the beating because he accidentally got peppered sprayed? Why not the others? At least the security camera footage was released, so you can see what the other officers were doing during that time, but it is odd that they only released one.

I haven't watched it and don't plan to. It will trigger me in a unhealthy way.

Yeah, it’s brutal and infuriating. These cops were completely unhinged. It just goes to show that while there is undoubtedly a racial component to policing in this country, the problem is inherent in the system regardless of who is involved.

Police reform and greater oversight is essential going forward.
