I am actually driving 20 minutes from Carlsbad to Oceanside to fill up at the "cheap stations" which are at $6.50 plus per gallon.
I might as well move to Hawaii or Europe at these prices. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Hopefully once the companies recoup the lost profits of 2020, they'll bring the average prices down |

Oil futures are down almost 7% today. Don't know if the decline will continue, or even last...We'll have to see. |

I was working from home so I didn't get to enjoy the gas price of 2020. Bummer. |

Imagine being on the 5, the 405, or the 15 at 4 in the afternoon on a Thursday, and it's near empty. That's what it was like in the weeks after COVID shut everything down. It was apocalyptic-feeling. _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe. |

That's why I think this is retaliation from oil company because their revenue was done so much in 2020/2021 and sadly they have the power to control the price/production |

Since I posted this, oil went down to about $105/barrel (which is an "additional" decline of 5%). We'll have to see if this downtrend continues. |

Crude oil keeps going down (currently around $87/88 per barrel), so if it continues, expect to see more relief at the pump in the next few weeks. |

Headed in the right direction: The average price for gas nationwide has decreased every day for about 7 weeks straight now. As of August 1, the average national price of gas has dropped to $4.17. Almost 20 states now have an average at $3.99 or lower.
The refrain that gas prices go up like a rocket but fall like a feather continues to hold true as the price of oil has dropped far faster than what consumers are seeing as they pay for gas prices at the pump. |

It's always the current price of oil on the way up and "that was the cost of oil when we started" on the way down. |

I saw a $3.89 just before the Canadian border in Washington this weekend. |

Crude oil rose from lows of 86 to 97 about a month ago (a 13% increase)...Actual gas prices in LA rose like 30%...How the hell is this legal?
By the way, gas prices are still extremely high, despite the price of crude dropping to the low 80s, which is lower than any prices we've seen since January. |
