I like Christie on ball. He's got this surprising in-between game and passing feel. And of course defensively.

Concerned about his shot though. If he's not knocking it down, he's not playing at all. The last thing we need is another high usage guard.

That euro step surprised me. Wish he hit the layup.
He's also been making good passes and that floater game looked good.
Enjoying his overall game minus the shot making obviously.
Im intrigued.

I think he's one of those players who will just continue improving month to month in his 1st year. Intrigued to see if by year's end, he's competent enough to get any minutes on the parent team.

Jaden Hardy

Less upside, more ready:
Jabari Walker
Keon Ellis

How's Jaden's defense? Passable?

Not really, but the shot creation off the dribble is too much to pass up.

Just read that Jaden scored 28 points in his SL debut.

I remember seeing his name come up on the draft thread as being available for the Lakers before they eventually drafted Christie.

Yes. And you also have the ability to look it up if you are able to post here

Weak. Have your own opinion. Who should have they drafted at 35? You don't really know stuff, just post random repetitive stuff

Yawn

Fake fan

Someone calling someone a fake fan when they themselves do not understand the concept of player maturity and improvement over time is rather rich sir

He's got about 2 weeks to think about it. What a peculiar thing to be mad at fans for terrible reasons.

6 games in, I can’t say if Christie has had 1 standout game yet.

It’s been mostly Huff and Cole, with SPJ having 1 with LeBron in attendance, then tonight it was McCoy.

Players like Max and THT would benefit if the Lakers hired Chip Engelland next year.

I'm just pessimistic Jeannie and CO won't realize someone of his caliber.

I'm really liking his game.
Minus the missed shots of course.
Better work on that NBA 3.

Max Christie signed a two-year, minimum contract with the Lakers and, no doubt has a lot of work to do. But at 19, and with good coaching, time is on his side.
IMO Max has nice upside & took a step forward last game.

He's a work in progress, but his defense is already very high for a 19 year old. Could see him flourishing a year from now. But this year, it's about getting stronger and working on a quicker release on his jumper. His form is beautiful but slow.

I agree. And, as you mention, at 19 this could be a little overwhelming. Having
a great g-league coach, working his body & mind would go a long way.

He's in good hands, Phil Handy and Miles Simon are very good at developing young players.
Spending some time in the G-League, getting reps, would certainly help speed up his development.
He has the tools but it will take time and experience.

He plays a little bit bigger than his size on both ends of the floor.

Sources: The Los Angeles Lakers signed rookie Max Christie to a two-year, $2.74 million deal, @hoopshype has learned. Both years are fully guaranteed. Christie was selected 35th overall by the Lakers in the draft.

We already knew what it was, but here’s the confirmation. The only surprising part (although, it’s not really that surprising) is the 2nd yr being fully guaranteed.

Why only 2 years for a 19 year old that needs to develop? Salary cap implications?

Rookie min of yr1 @ 1m & yr2 @ 1.7m having cap implications?

You already know what it is. Let’s just say we’re all Rob’d of a capable FO that can Maximize their resources.

THT, AC, Reaves and now Max all on 2yr deals when we had the resources to lock them up for longer.

He seems to handle slightly better than KCP. But a taller KCP isn't bad at all for a floor.

I’ve liked what I’ve seen in SL so far. Obviously the offense is rough, but the defense has been very good. Need to see how it translates to actual established NBA players, but against guys like Kuminga and Boston last night it was impressive. Even on offense, he moves well and has shown a decent eye for making the skip pass.

The same guy that Scotty Pippen Jr got 4 deflections off of his handle alone.
