We are at 14 + 2 players (14 nba, 2 2-way)

We only have 15 + 2 spots. If we were to sign Huff, we would have to start waiving guys to sign buyout players or accept "extra" players in a Russ trade.

An exhibit-10 runs through preseason (I believe) and gives them a signing bonus if they sign with SouthBay. He's only "locked up" through camp.

Wait but we had a full 15 + two-way last season didn't we?
Bron
AD
Russ
Melo
Bradley
Ariza
Ellington
Bazemore
Reaves
Dwight
DeAndre
Nunn
THT
Stanley
Malik

And then Jay Huff and Mason Jones

We saved the 15th, saw just how much defense we let walk out the door and grabbed Bradley after the Warriors cut him the day before the season started. This was only possible because we were on the 14 + 2 plan.

You’re right that the cut down eventually has to happen to 15 by opening night.
However, teams can roster up to 20 (sans 2-way deals) during the offseason.

An exhibit-10 written into a deal gives the team the ability to convert a player to a 2-way contract). Most camp invites will sign these in order for their deal to be converted to a 2-way by the time the season starts.

Anyone know if he has cleared health and safety protocols yet? We haven't looked good since he went out. Would love to see him with some minutes against this better comp.

We should trade some of the bums we signed to make room for Swider and Huff.

Nice. Exhibit 10. If he plays well, Lakers will have some decisions to make. Hopefully another team doesn't swoop in and take him if he does do well.

Wenyen vs Huff vs Swider vs Pippen for that 14th spot and the 2-ways, may the best 3 wins out

Huff, Swider and Pippen should make the team, with Huff and Pippen on the two ways. Wenyen should be wished the best on his future endeavors and play for the DFenders.

It was only one preseason game, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a chance. Neither Bryant or Jones seemed to take advantage of the opportunity.

I guess Damian was only good as a starter under Frank's system.

Can Jay Huff Become A Legit NBA Center?
Quote:
Huff, 24, has the theoretical outlines of a floor-spacing, rim-rolling, pick-setting behemoth, which is all well and good,
but he has struggled to cultivate much of a role for himself against NBA-caliber defensive talent.
A big deterrent for Huff has been his foot speed.
While he proved relatively athletic at the college level, that has not been the case in the pros.
Conversely, he is not quite strong enough to do battle with league centers just yet.

Need size with AD, Wenyan and JTA all on the shelf. Are there better 4/5 options on the free agent scrap heap even out there?

Don't want Ham to even contemplate more 4 guard lineups with Bron at center.
