I dont know a whole lot about him so I'll withhold judgment.

Seems like last year was a down year shooting wise for him.

I didn’t watch much of him last season, but I thought he was out of the price range. I guess people are down on it. Hope he does well because we will need it.

He's like a more expensive Monk from what I saw of him, and less athletic.

When we signed Monk I was worried about his defense. He improved. But I was still a bit skeptical come playoff time.

I'm definitely worried about Walker being targeted in the playoffs. Not sure he's all that playable on D.

I wouldn't worry about his athleticism, though.

They're banking on Jent getting Lonnie to improve his shooting like John Collins. I'm assuming

Good thing you don’t have to worry about the playoffs cuz this roster not making it

So much negativity. 12 points per game on 23 minutes, 4 years NBA experience and ONLY 23 years old. Athletic, quick and only $6.5 million.

You guys need to relax. This is a good signing. Better than anyone other than Monk last year.

Late to the party here, but this is an awful awful signing. Was another team offering him more than the minimum?

So instead of signing Malik Monk at less money we got a worse player at more money.

Malik Monk got full MLE for two years from Sac. We couldn’t come close to matching that with only the miniMLE available (which we offered to him, apparently, but he declined).

I saw his QO from the Spurs was $6.3 million. After initially issuing the QO, they retracted it, potentially at his request if he had designs on playing for the Klutch led Lakers.

Another sub 6'7" Laker... his size is my biggest disappointment. Did Pelinka learn nothing from last season?

Shocking use of the MLE. Other than as a reaction to our team being old last year, it's hard to see the thinking behind this one.

I was referring to the talk on how Malik might come back to the Lakers for less money. So instead of getting him at that discount, we spent more on Lonnie Walker.

Lebron and AD give us 80 combined games, not even a play-in game, and Klutch is somehow able to muscle us into wasting our MLE on Lonnie Walker???

Does Lebron care about competing for a title, or is it so far gone, he signs off on wasting one of the very few opportunities we have to improve the team on making a Rich Paul client feel good?

Does Rob know that the word "no" exists?

Is there a single person in the organization that realized "hey that guy isn't good, do'nt pay him this money."? Or did they just google him, see he was a touted first rounder, and think "hey that's kinda like Malik Monk was!"

Monk was the first choice, this was the backup plan for Monk, he can be viewed as a proportionately (salary-wise) lesser version of Monk. Not saying I agree but I see the logic.

I'm not sure I understand:
The "less money" talk was about Monk taking less than the bigger mle from other teams and setting for the Lakers lesser (tp) mle. It turns out he decided not to.
I also don't understand how Lonnie got more. He got the exact same tpmle that Monk rejected, no more.

I mean, did they really have to get him on Day 1 of FA. ?? I doubt he had many suitors on opening day, he is very inconsistent as a shooter and defender, but very athletic.
