Not advocating one way or the other, just curious as to how much Lebron is embedded in Laker Lore.

He got us one title. He rescued us from years of not making the playoffs. He will likely break the most revered NBA record (all time scoring) as a Laker, and he has carried this Lakers team as much as Kobe did, and in every season he's been here.

So, does that, at least, warrant a jersey retirement?

But is Lebron entitled to a mural?

He already is a lock to have his number retired, whether he leaves or stays

I think Wilt will be the similar example here. Not statue worthy, but retired jersey worthy.

He's a HOFer, and a primary piece of 1 of the 17 Lakers championships.

I said no, but if he retires a Laker, all-time scoring champ, and we make 1 more deep run it won't matter what I think...but I hope they retire his #23 because that's the one he won the chip in.

For a bubble ring, and potentially missing the playoffs twice? That would be mind blowing 😂😂

To be fair, Anthony Davis saved us from missing the playoffs. As we still missed the playoffs with LeBron here (potentially twice now).

Some peoples hate here is borderline insane.. At least make some sense my man.

Bron is clearly getting his jersey retired here no matter if some don't agree.. Not really even a debate imo.. Def. doesn't deserve a statue at all but his Jersey will be hanging.

And the Lakers are free to do as they please. But Lakers might miss the playoffs for the second time in three years under LeBron, with a flukey bubble ring. That's an oddly low standard for number retirement.

Definitely agree with this. At the very least you have to retire Pau first.

Got a title and breaking the record. Yes i would say that is enough.

however statue extends beyond the game of basketball in my opinion. Only a select few deserve one.

Lebron went from city to city as he pleased and everyone built
a team for him. Some better some worse.

I think Miami will do something as will the Cavs; personally I’d pass
on him, Klutch and the the entire side show. It’s all fine, he’s
ESPN and the leagues man; cool.

He’s a Laker and while he’s here I’ll cheer him on, that’s the end of that
though.

I think the Lakers will wait on Pau until he is voted into the Hall. Once that happens, they will retire his jersey pretty quickly.

Lebron is a lock to have his jersey retired.

Argued by a growing number as the goat.. got us a chip to match Boston and will presumably get the scoring title.. he won’t be first in line but deserves one regardless of what I think

Unless he goes back to #23, I predict they will retire both his numbers. It's not a double-honor after all. You are honoring the player and if a player used two numbers you retire both of them.

Thats a Kobe only thing imo. Kobe had a worthy legacy with both numbers, if you look at each half of his career individually

I can understand that viewpoint. I am indifferent to it myself. Personally, I thought they should have hung only one jersey for Kobe with two numbers on it, but they did what they did. We'll see what they do for Lebron.
