Could
Of kept a couple
Of them and just signed AD for free in the off-season too…

But the reason why the Lakers won the championship that season was because they traded for him instead of waiting another season.
I'd still rather have the team we drafted over the crap show we have now. You can keep the 4 month break bubble chip too.

Agreed. I’d have loved those young kids with Jimmy Butler and AD. Boy!

Strange that some Laker fans denigrate the team's fairly won title just to support their argument of keeping the drafted players over the AD trade.
That the Lakers are sucking right now is due the FO's failed actions after the title run. But the AD trade worked.
I get other team's fans belittling the 2020 title, but that fellow Laker fans doing the same is just sad.

Sad because some recognize that it was the most screwed up NBA season ever? They played half a season then took 4.5 months off and then tried to say that 8 games for selected teams would be the season. A playoffs that no one watched, despite people being stuck at home and forced to watch TV for entertainment. It was simply a money grab for the NBA, one that fans never bought into.

The fact that "no one watched" (I bet you were watching up until your Clippers choked in the Denver series) doesn't make the title less relevant than any other year. All the teams in the bubble were playing to win, some choked, some had too many excuses, and the Lakers, who had to endure the same things like the other teams, came out on top.
Oh, and the players themselves wanted and voted to play.

He's basically a Lakers board meme of the old man screaming at the kids to get off his lawn. All you can do is laugh that nonsense off.

A handful of guys every draft cycle get praised for their work ethic - I remember De'Aaron Fox being the reputed hardest working guy in the 2017 draft and he still hasn't improved much on his weaknesses - but Ingram really has elite intangibles and has worked his way into becoming the best player from the 2016 draft.

Caruso is out there playing like a beast. Making big steals, big lay-ups, asserting himself, hyping the team up.

Caruso and Lonzo are the entire identity of that team. When those 2 were on the court the Bulls were a huge problem for the league. They need Lonzo healthy next year and I think they'll make a lot of noise. They're legit but only if Lonzo and Caruso are both healthy. They've had both out for most of the year. The perimeter D and hustle plays are suffocating by those 2.

And his team is in the playoffs where Caruso (a former laker) just shut down Giannis in crunch time.
