RIP my man. Growing up I thought his character on Full House was how his personality was. Listening to his standup, boy was I wrong.

I can't believe this. I attended the Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget in person. He was an absolutely filthy stand-up comic, which makes it all the more amazing that his public image is one of a trusted father figure and TV host. And by all accounts, he was a very kind man to those who knew him.

Wow, damn.

RIP Bob.

Like many, I grew up on Full House.

LOL! Boy were you.

But truth be told, he was actually much more like his character than his standup. A really good and decent guy.

This sucks.

RIP.

From one of his dear friends. Sums it up perfectly:

Kevin Ryder
@thekevinryder

Bob Saget was an amazing human.

His level of fame can be incredibly isolating, but not for Bob.

He suffered more loss than anyone should during one lifetime.
But
He always loved ❤️
He always smiled ❤️
He was relentlessly positive ❤️

When I grow up, I wanna be him.

RIP #BobSaget

Damn - sometimes deaths happen really unexpectedly. That is too young.

After Full House, he became a really dirty comedian (although maybe that's what he was all along). About as far from his sitcom character as you could get. Something I could definitely appreciate. RIP.

I went down the rabbit hole. He commented on one of Candace Cameron's instagram posts with her daughter not but a day ago. Every once in a while we get reminded how it can all go away in an instant.

Damn....I forgot he was the original host of AFV.

I remember watching a Howard Stern interview shortly after his Full House gig and shocked just how filthy he was....I had no idea.

RIP to one of the great TV dads. 2nd to Mr. Drummond. I don't care what you say.

I love that a lot of TV dads are played by comedians who in real life are nothing like the characters they play on TV. It shows their range in acting.

A kind man and dedicated philanthropist. He spent a great deal of his time championing various charitable causes, Scleroderma being the primary one because it took his sister. My wife and I attended a couple of charitable functions he headed up and he was clearly very serious about it all, and very appreciative of people's support. The two times I met him he was very sincere and gracious. It's a real shame that such a genuinely good spirit who was doing good things has left the world far too early.

Marc Maron put all three of his podcasts with Bob together today. It's a really good liste for anyone who wants to hear some of Bob's sense of humor and get an idea of why he was the guy he was.

Wow. Just read that Bob didn't die of a heart attack, but actually had hit his head and gone to bed without knowing how severe it was.

He died from a blood bleed in his sleep. That just makes it all that much more tragic, that he could probably have received treatment and been OK.

It's why they have strict concussion protocols in sports. Very sad. Chick also died after hitting his head (in 2002 -- already 20 years ago).

Jesus (bleep) Christ. A headboard?? That's what they think killed him. Just getting out of bed, smack your head a bit, think nothing of it . . . what the (bleep).

I would have to hit my head extremely hard to even think about doing anything other than going back to bed. Terrifying. Poor Bob, man. That's so much worse than what I thought.
