Stanley Johnson looks promising as one of those active defensive forwards we desperately need, although we should give it a few more games to see if he really is who we need.

But if he is, and if Ariza has enough left in the tank to give us the same things consistently (active defense, running the floor in transition, decent 3-pt shooting), should we still target a 3-and-D forward with length via trade, or should we shift our focus to a center who can defend and hit 3s (like Myles Turner)?

I'm thinking in the scenario that I mentioned that a 5 like Turner would space the floor better for the big 3.

Russ
Ellington/Reaves/Monk/AB
LeBron
AD
Turner

I don't like the idea of starting AD at the 5 because when he gets beat on the perimeter we'll have no rim protection.

Myles Turner wants to be a franchise player. Not a role player. Do you want to build around Myles Turner? Do you want to pay Myles Turner $40 million? Why does his name keep popping up around here? Also, the player from Indiana who actually wants out is Sabonis.

Myles Turner is a worthwhile gamble. Can shoot the three, nearly 3 blocks a game why wouldn't you want him. If you get him, you can drop DJ and Dwight is a situational backup. AD/Turner would erase everything at the rim. They can also play together which is a bonus. The dream scenario is Turner and Grant but I see no way possible to get both. Either will help this team a ton. Turner maybe more realistic of a player.

Jerami Grant also wants to be a franchise player. Another $40 million. Neither Myles Turner nor Jerami Grant are All-Stars in the East. I don't understand it.

Money printer go brrrr

Have you watched him play recently? He’s basically another Brook Lopez…guy that will get played off the floor in certain matchups.

I watched the most recent game. He got stuffed by a skinny, shorter rookie guard/wing and couldn’t even dunk the ball…just lays it up.
