Brooklyn has had their last few games postponed. Does that help us or hurt us?

This game will show just how bad the 2021-22 Lakers are competitively.

Remember the days where Caruso/KCP/Bradley would harrass and annoy Harden into low impact games?

Well Harden (even this version) will light up this clown Lakers team for 50+

Lakers have six normal players active. Two bench scrubs. Four non-NBA fill ins. What do you expect

Even if they had the regular rotation, their pattern this season has been to get lit up by not only stars but also scrubs.

Team like Brooklyn can score 140 on this team in their sleep.

The G league Spurs put up 138. It’s not like they are some juggernaut. It’s basically Murray, White and a bunch of scrubs. You would think a team with Lebron and Russ and some scrubs could match the Spurs tbh.

They've had their regular rotation for a grand total of 0 games and 0 practices

I’m talking the non-Ariza and Nunn Lakers. The nets would still score at will on the Lakers. The only two that have been out long-term are Ariza and Nunn.

I’m talking about the regular rotation that had everyone else and still lost to bad teams.

Also if we are expecting Nunn and Ariza to save this team…oh boy.

Also, Murray, White, Johnson, Poeltl, McDermott would all be the Lakers 3rd best player right now. Plus a HOF coach and well run system. The loss wasn't surprising in the least

Even ignoring Nunn and Ariza, Lebron/Russ/AD have not played four straight games together. By definition that means there hasn't been a "regular" rotation. It's been junked up all season

That’s fine. Agree that it’s been junked up but it has been for other teams too.

I don’t see them being good enough tbh. It’s glaring that even 2 of the big 3 can’t even lead them to convincing wins. Not even blowouts, just a convincing win.

Other teams haven't been nearly as crippled, but I agree it's been disappointing. I'm still reserving judgment until they get people back from covid.

I'm optimistic about this lineup:
Russ xxx Ariza Lebron AD
xxx = Reaves/Nunn/Monk/Ellington/Bradley/Melo

So basically we Laker fans have descended to the level of claiming “what could have been” is enough to satisfy? Not for me.

Unless some Christmas Day Miracle occurs, I am expecting another marquee matchup loss as we have seen too often in recent years.

Lakers roster is decimated. Is that enough of an excuse though?

Unfortunately they played horrible defense before and with as full a roster as they have seen this year. It is about developing the culture of defense. Putting in the work and effort of doing the little things on both ends that mark a “winning culture” from a competitive team.

So far I haven’t seen it for more then sporadic and brief moments all season long. So why would I expect 10 day contract or G-League fill-ins to play any less inspired?

Will root for the team to surprise me. But not expecting it.

Here is my less then enthusiastic… Go Lakers!

That is why building a solid roster matters. Not having 3 guys taking up most of the salary cap. We are seeing the roster that Pelinka built, this is his design. He chose to be top heavy with the merry minimums behind them.

We can win this game. The Nets are hurting as bad as us. Make Harden work for everything and limit the f*ing turnovers.

Please please please win this game
