Tatum needs to be playing next to a real pg. He and Jaylen Brown are a terrible fit as they are both about the same age and play the same position. Both trying to be the alpha on that team spells disaster. I still really like Tatum as a franchise guy but you need to put a facilitator and a big man next to him. Terrible roster building by the Celtics.

Looking back since 2014, the Lakers have missed on drafting players that are now considered franchise players.

Me too. Would u trade AD for him.

What makes Tatum's numbers 'legit' and AD's numbers 'empty stats'?

Seems people somehow think Tatum is more legitimate and I'm wondering, based on what? Because it isn't on defense, and it isn't on success.

But they love to act like what AD did in New Orleans didn't matter nor prove he was a franchise kind of talent, nor did winning a Championship with the Lakers little over a year ago in their minds. But to them Tatum is legit and a franchise guy? Interesting...

You'd have watched him get traded for Anthony Davis.

Must be so hard for him.. being surrounded by all-star talent like Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Al Hortford, Kyrie Irving, and Gordon Hayward and never accomplishing anything with it.

He's putting up numbers this season with Russell Westbrook-like efficiency(25 ppg on 42% shooting), while his team continues to lose with him leading them. If he was a Laker, ya'll would be screaming to ship him out by now.

the easy answer here but somebody like Zion or Ja or Fox or KAT prob would want to experience bright lights of NBA during their peak. There's more news about Caruso/Kuzma while they were here then those guys

I have a feeling our 2023 team is Bron, AD, Jerami Grant, a one year deal for Russel Westbrook (at a reduced salary) and better role players.

They prob punt till 2024 when bigger names are avail

said it here first, i will not be surprised if Zion follows the footsteps of Greg Oden into early retirement. have you seem his latest picture, the dude is close to 400lb on a 6'8" frame.

Not a bad strategy.

It keeps getting back to the same issue…if AD is not a top 5 player it’s just musical chairs with the rest.

when you look back over the last few years, Lebron is a rarity: a guy who reaches and tests free agency. Most players take the mega extension once it's available and figure they can just force a trade later if necessary.

The Next Great Player available will likely be under contract and require some already-stockpiled assets as well as future assets like AD did. The trade haul for AD was a 9-year span of prospects and picks. So 2024 (when we finally get out of our NO pick obligations) will only be the beginning of collecting that kind of asset haul again.
