Yeah. Imagine that say AD/Bron/Westbrook at some point in begin to lock in defensively. You're seeing some signs of life of our D now. Even with Westbrook, but especially AD. Now add a motivated playoff level defense Lebron. Now, when you see teams pack the paint on AD/Bron/Westbrook. You have a guy like Ellington on the corner. A guy like Melo, on the wing. Damn - that's gonna make teams scramble. But they have to also play D. I mean AD/Melo/Bron/Ellington/Westbrook will be tough to defend because there's good spacing, but it has to be both ways. I look forward to this hopefully happening at some point. | That's it, if we play defense like we are capable of doing, we will be great, if we don't play dogged defense, we lose. |

Kudos to Ellington for stepping up again with 15 points on 5-8Fg.
He shot a sniper-like 71% from deep (5-7).
His overall defense was solid also. (+12). |

In all honestly to say anyone is for sure not going to be a part of the rotation is likely just hating on the player.. Outside of Baze and DJ who are nothing more then solid injury protection since we have players that do what they do much better when healthy.
I could see Ellington not playing in some games when fully healthy depending on matchups and how everyone is playing but he'll obviously be a regular contributor as long as he stays healthy since he is clearly one of the best 3pt shooters we have. |

Ellington was a great pick-up and a true professional.
He usually handles his business when called upon. |

Yes, he impressed me with his defensive commitment. Neither him nor Monk were liabilities tonight.
And for the shooting...wow, that's what we need from him _________________ White guy to white guy alley oop |

W. Ellington has been up and down but tonight he played a big role in the win vs the Pacers.
He scored 14 points on 5-7Fg. including 4-6 from deep.
His overall defense was solid also. (+20). |

His defense lately is consistent. I feel like he can be a fulltime starter with our big 3. |

This was the second really good 2-way game from him. I just don't know if he's a starting caliber player on a team that wants to contend. We have had few looks at various 2s.
Bradley (undersized a bit, and not a big threat in the offense, great D motor).
Ellington (good shooter that can get hot, but the defense hasn't been there always)
Monk (most talented with an arrange of skills, but consistency, IQ are a concern)
THT (great tools to work with, but seems to not do anything particularly well that compliments the big 3).
Baze (tried hard, but his offense was invisible)
Yesterday, Ellington/Monk were fanstastic. They showed ability of a starting level 2 guard. I just don't know if they can keep it up. We need a starting caliber 2, badly. I think Ellington/Monk are solid backups. But we're leaning on them this season because we don't have a reliable starting 2 guard. |

Ellington is getting up there in age but still arguably has 1 of the purest 3pt shots in the NBA, Stu Lantz was pissed off when we weren’t running plays for him last night. |

Wayne is up to 39.5% from 3 after starting poorly. If he could match his 42% shooting of last year that would be huge. |

I think an engaged bron and ad on defense can be a good compliment to what ellington can bring on that side. He showed he can do well sticking to shooters running through screens as well as putting pressure from the backside on some pnr plays. Obviously he wont be a wing stopper, but with mistake-erasers like bron and ad, he wont need to. |

My ideal starters would be brow-bron-brodie-ariza-ellington. Wish we could see this 5 soon. |

How things have changed. It seemed like Wayne was going to be out of the rotation while Bazemore a lock to be our starter, but good to see Ellington just giving it his all time and time again to earn more PT. |

The positives:
His O rating is 115 per 100 possessions.
His 3% is 39.5 on 5 attempts a game.
USG rate of 12% which compliments the big 3.
The negatives:
He has a +/- of -1.6
His D rating is 113
Seems unless his 3 ball is falling, he does not do anything particularly well. The defense in the last game was great, but not sure we will get that effort regularly.
In terms of fit though. Much better than THT.
THT's numbers -
97 O rating.
Usage rate at 19.2%.
3% is 28.6
-3.1 on court
To me it's not even a contest, Ellington should be getting minutes over THT at the 2 longterm, as should Monk. I don't see how THT fits the starters at all. |

In other words he's pretty much the player he's always been and we have the typical LG shouts of joy and bouts of depression as he fluctuates above and below his mean game-to-game. |
